We are at Go Daddy's mercy at the moment. They have already charged my credit card to roll back the website but they say it takes 24-72 hours and the order was placed at 10AM on Sunday. Let's assume for the moment that we will need to post our lineups outside of the usual way. You can post in the lineups section on Slack, you can post your lineup in this thread here at FCP or you can e-mail me your lineup

so Go Daddy replaced the server that we were on Dec 1st and the problems started Dec 2nd. Entirely possible that they opened a vulnerability when they did that and that triggered our problems. It also means that they are having issues doing a rollback.

 

this is what they told Ashley last night.

 

The said the reason for the delay in the rollback is because of the recent migration on December 1st and as a result needed to be escalated to their next level of technicians in order to restore the databases.

nothing has changed as of this morning other than Go Daddy continuing to be horrible. Last communication with them last night they said they still had the open ticket with their higher level techs. Worst case scenario we lose everything from the forum. Also possible we can recreate the posts from the forum in a new forum where everybody will have to sign up new again. We haven't fixed the issue with logging in to the team pages since when Go Daddy does roll back the website anything we would be doing would be lost. I do have a CSV file of the posts from the forum so for example I am able to look up details of posted trades if that becomes necessary.

so it's entirely possible that we weren't hacked but Go Daddy ****ed up when they were copying the files from one server to another. Gov is even swearing at the moment.

 

For Thursday we should post our lineups at Slack or here FCP as we did for Tuesday. If Go Daddy can't restore the website we'll fix the log in to our account pages and proceed as before with the forum situation still to be worked out. We'll let you know when that decision is made.
