That is a better way of putting it.   "I'm a closeted gay racist" would be the most accurate way of putting it

I've been having weird fox trot-style jazz music running through my head since this show aired. Kinda cool actually. God the 20's were the best.
ya those were the days. i can remember buying my glad rags while i was drinking my phosphate at the local drug store. then i realized i was late for an ether frolic.

having your mom jump on you
That was sooooo creepy. At first I completely thought that was his girlfriend. She apparently had him when she was like 16 (which is reasonable, just saying she's young). But it gives us a look at where he came from, and why he is like he is.

and she was very attractive too. I liked the chicago brothel scenes where they show chubby boobage for no real reason other than chubby boobs are pretty much the best thing in the world and a brothel is a good excuse to get titty shots. Kind of like how the Sopranos used the Bing. The scene where the cutlery salesman and the young girl were being pushed in a cart by a white dude was interesting in that only black men had that specific job and someone in production made the conscious decision to have a white guy pushing the cart. Not sure why they would do that.

I think there are probably a couple other glaring historical inaccuracies, and I kind of like finding them because I'm a noodler. Good pick up on that one but we need evidence for the bolded! I was curious about one or two songs that played in the first episode, and whether they were accurate to 1920. Again I'm the first to admit that I'm just being a jerk with things like that, but I'm interested in finding out if I was correct or not.

Did anyone notice in the first episode, the homage to the sopranos? There's a bench in AC that tony was always having dream sequences on, and they showed a shot of nucky standing by that bench, in the same ocean shot the sopranos always used.

Gretchen Mol...Didn't know it was her until I saw in the credits that she was a guest star. Had to do the research to see which character she was.http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/conten...81674b9f8fd2bcchttp://forums.superiorpics.com/ubbthreads/...185#Post2859185

I watched a show on HBO leading up to BE which was about Atlantic City and how Nucky pretty much had his hand in everything. Somehow during this tv show I got the impression that only black men pushed the tourist carts. That's a lousy source and my memory could be wrong so I guess you'd have to noodle it out yourself.

Well I'm inclined to agree because, for example, you wouldn't find a white guy shining shoes in an area where black people shined shoes. If black people were providing that particular unskilled, slightly demeaning service, white people would never have taken the same job as blacks. So if black people were pushing carts, it seems very likely that only black people were pushing carts.

i just want to know where scocese got it in his head that it would be a good idea to recycle all manner of things from goodfellas while at the same time blatantly ripping off stuff from the godfather and the sopranos. and how come i feel like im the only one to notice it?bad stand up comedy during a robbery wtf???

Edit - I fail at creating the black background and don't want to spoil this week's episode for anyone, but there was one part I thought was especially badass and hooked me 100% on this show.
