ahosang 0
General forum is down the street. This is the politics forum. Make a political statement, such as :'Romanians seem clumsy and lacking in intelligence, therefore are inferior beings'. (what you looking at, Negreanu??)or'Brits are so insecure about sex and sexuality, but while this was just a quirk alongside Victorian splendour and relative superiority, this attitude is part of a greater inferiority complex which dooms the British to losing all competitive edge and Nationalistic pride, and with the figurehead of the Monarchy now just a joke, the British as a cohesive people have no real long-term future'.I mean, I don't necessarily agree with those statements(or think they make any sense), but you need to make some sort of statement. You gotta admit, your OP was pretty lame for the politics forum...

AmScray 354
Romanians are bizarre. They're universally viewed as being the lowest people in Europe by other Europeans (like, ask anyone in Europe "Who's the worst people in Europe" and 100% of the time, the answer will be "Why Romanians, of course!" If Italy could get away with just gassing them all, they probably would...) yet I have a programmer from there who's a fucking genius (both creative and technical) and every time I've ever sourced coders from Romania, I get top-top, German/US/Scandinavian quality work for Indian Coder type prices (even though of the 1,000,000,000 people in India, there are none with any capacity for creativity whatsoever. None. Not even one lone example. Technicals? Fine. An eye for aesthetic, the ability to comprehend user-experience in advance, the ability ti innovate or create new functionality that isn't derived from 'code library'? No one in India is capable of this, yet Romanians are but will work for the same price ).
JoeyJoJo 18
I don't know what cooking pancakes for tea means. Is that a euphemism? Do you make tea out of pancakes? Are pancakes a common accompaniment with tea? Is tea an activity and not just a drink? So many questions.

vbnautilus 48
Is tea an activity and not just a drink?Pretty sure it's this one. The title is "Teatime love bite". I'd bet "tea" functions as "teatime" in that sentence.
JoeyJoJo 18
I'd bet "tea" functions as "teatime" in that sentence.Sounds reasonable to me, but now I need to know if pancakes at teatime is normal.
QED 4
Anyone from Europe care to comment on this ...Romania does get a pretty bad rep in a lot of Europe since it was let into the EU, especially the gypsy part of it's population. Even in Northern Ireland there was a break in the usual sectarianism to go beat on some Romanian immigrants.

vbnautilus 48
Sounds reasonable to me, but now I need to know if pancakes at teatime is normal.Well this is Romania so they are probably eating clătită, which is a thin crêpe-like pancake. Probably goes well with tea.

QED 4
I know hatred when I see it, and man, those people HATED Gypsies.Italy certainly seems to be the best known for hating on them but it's hard to say if it's specific hate for gypsies or just immigrants in general and Romanian gypsies just happen to be the most common ones in Italy. I think it's Juve fans specifically that sing "there's no such thing as a black Italian" but it could be more wide spread.

AmScray 354
For the record, the Italian man was in his 50's, trim, wearing a very expensive suit and had no facial hair, however, I cannot bring myself to draw an Italian in any other way since basically, in my mind, that's what they all look like. It's kind of like how you know whenever an Asian is talking, regardless of what they're actually 'saying', in the back of your mind you hear that World War II Jap-Stereotype song? Well, for me, it's like that with Italians. Whether they're actually wearing a chefs hat or not, they may as well be and they *alll* have long, curly mustaches... and are fat. Southern Buddhist 1
See? Throw out any old Romanian/British joke and all of a sudden it's stereotypes flyin' everywhere. What could be more political than that? The system works. I'll add (reiterate, from OT) that the Brits have, bar none, the worst euphemisms for sexual parts on the face of the earth.
