CorvairShaggy 5
O.k. Was only playing for about 15 mins and table seemed pretty straight up. I was BB so I just checked this. Generally this is a fold hand for me.Moooooooooooraaawwwr.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em $0.25/$0.50 - 7 playersBB: $50.75 (Hero)UTG: $50.00 UTG+1: $22.95 HJ: $48.60 CO: $49.25 Button: $65.35 SB: $30.40 Preflop: ($0.75) Hero is BB with (7 players)UTG folds, UTG+1 calls $0.50, HJ calls $0.50, 2 folds, SB calls $0.25, Hero checksFlop: ($2.00) (4 players)SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 checks, HJ bets $1.50, SB calls $1.50, Hero calls $1.50, UTG+1 calls $1.50The more I look at this, should I have lead out here for $2, or re-raise to pot ($5). If I get 3-bet then fold?? I am thinking now flatting was the worst thing I could have done.Turn: ($8.00) (4 players)SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 bets $7, HJ calls $7, SB folds, Hero raises to $48.75 and is all-in, UTG+1 calls $13.95 and is all-in, HJ foldsAs played, I F'd up twice now by checking this. Even though only assholes like me end up in this spot, but this is a definite pot bet then release to any re-raise, correct, if you happen to somehow idiotically find yourself in this spot??Now, here is my thinking here, and tell me %-wise was I WAY off base. My gut is telling me UTG+1 has J 10 becasue he lead out both times. Could Someone have A9 here, or could everyone be drawing to a straight/flush?? With all the limps, is it possible for someone to be slow playing a trash hand like 7 10 or 5 7? At this point UTG+1 has $13.95 left. If I flat the $7 (pot bet) I do have a Q with still a good draw. If they are drawing, I hope they miss and my top pair is good. My gut was telling me UTG+1 has J 10, but how spewey was the shove here, and %-wise was this a good play. If I flat the $7 then brick the river, If I check again, would UTG+1 go all-in for the $13 (less than pot at this point), and if everyone else folded then should I / could I fold top pair here? To me this got too complicated, probably becuase of my flop play and being OOP. Thoughts?????

rrumsey 0
terrible, top pair nothing kicker and a weak flush draw c/r overshoving turn is just bad imo. like bad.
CorvairShaggy 5
terrible, top pair nothing kicker and a weak flush draw c/r overshoving turn is just bad imo. like bad.yea, I was thinking just shove and hope everyone folds, instead I made someone's dick hard. Anyway, what should you do when you find yourself in these spots? When you check on BB and you get a piece of it. Make 1 pot stab, and unless you nail the turn (trips, flush straight, not TP) let it go? Don't try to get creative and play cautious?? I think I caught the "******* gets creative" bug and had a bad mental lapse.

I think I caught the "******* gets creative" bug and had a bad mental lapse.pot control, you have equity. and a decent bluff catcher but we dont beat anything beyond middle pairs right now so pot control and keep there ranges open, it allows us to win at showdown more. think about what that shove does to the range he can have. it makes our equity a bluff. dont forget, our flush draw could be dead, i mean it is possible we are totally f*cked with AX diamonds, but i think it is more likely that a ton of broadway combos (probably weaker broadways but whatever people do weird passive sh*t sometimes at this level with hands im jacking up all day) with at least one diamond peeled this flop and we are now chasing 20ish %. and it is just ssooo big of a shove. we never get called by worse, or worse draws i would say. Granted it is a sticky spot but remember we have showdown value and a draw, keep ranges open so we may still have the best hand. and dont forget it is a mulitway pot, they tend to get to showdowns. a cheap showdown with this hand is great. so get to a cheap showdown! I wouldn't mind watching from time to time. I feel like I at least now can recognize dumb shit, and can analyze a little better, but I guess I am getting complacent with .25 NL and need to push a little more to get sharper mentally. I know this hand is total crap, but I have stepped up this weekend only 1 table $1NL 20-50bb and played really well, but got coolered twice and that wiped out my weekend profits, (3 hours worth of work. No Biggie) but what can you do when you get it in with trips and a guy hits his 2 outer on the river and another catches a 5 on the river to make a straight with 69 off? Coaching kristy is baluga bring kristy arnett up from 50nl all the way up to 200nl. it is great to see someone make mistakes that tons of us make and here great reasons why its wrong, and the mindset/ key points he uses to make his decisions. im not great, im much more a forum junkie for cashgames right now then a player in them but i think something like that will be well worth it fro someone at that stake. it opened my eyes to trying to think and play on a higher level, for you i bet it will pay for the whole membership easily in one session. If not, i would suggest PMing people who play a lot of cash games: like King James or babalyondonks and seeing if you can set up a ghosting via skype. it would be very helpful. i got someone to let me do this for triple draw and in one session i learned more then i really could handle. it is great
Ninja Ace 1
c/c flop, c/f turn imothisyour queen is an irrelevant card, and actually a terrible card since JT makes up a big chunk of the ranges... you're seeing a multiway turn so a good assumption is always that you are no longer playing for one pair hands. You're not being laid 4:1 to complete your frush and even though the bettor is short you can't count on the rest of his stack when you hit bc you're not drawing nut and your hand is quite obvious when it hits so it's an ez fold

It has good info, but some of the videos just put me to sleep. Mathematics was my worst subject in school 15 years ago, and still is today, but I have been gambling for the past 10 years in casinos in the US and Bahamas, so I know about swings, odds, luck, feel, etc. I have been have been doing better in cash games than tourneys the past few months, so I was trying to build a bankroll then see about getting coaching, but I have a few major things hanging over my head right now, so I cannot commit the time needed. Hopefully that will be cleared up in the next few months so I can commit 100% to poker. If any of the cash game pros here are interested in a part-time pupil, PM me. If I could be half as smart at poker as rrumsey I would be happy as hell with that for now As always, thanks for the good info.

People who are trying to become coaches who are winning 1-2 players + may pick you up as a student for free. granted paying for a established coach of a site is worth its weight in gold this is a cheap solution. I know there is a guy right now on DC who is trying to become a coach and is asking for vids to review. win win imohere is the link for the DC guy:I wanna Be a DC coach! I have been able to get better at board textures and hand ranges, but I still can just be a over aggressive spew-tard at times and try to be a idiotic bully instead of laying it down when I know I am toast. The first step to recovery is realizing there is a problem.....CHECK!!
Eba12 0
With the player UTG going from check calling twice to raising on the turn. Id prolly think he made something like 2 pair on the turn.
TheTiburon 0
When i was on top of my game I took a few lessons from:1. http://poker-coach.com/poker-coaching/jennifear2. http://www.pokerxfactor.com3. Attended a WPT Boot Camp4. http://www.cardrunners.comSoon after I was coaching other players and cashing hard. You want to improve I highly recommend Cardrunners and Poker X Factor. I'm going to join PokerVT very soon and probably get some SNG help from Jennifear again. I'm going to have a local friend here in Miami that has twice won the Stars Sunday Million to work with me on my live games. Hope this helps brother. O.k.
