Official Miami Heat 2010-2011 Thread

Did you see Lebron's comment about it? He said, "It was pretty good; they could've done better."That's pretty much the exact response you want to give if you really want to piss Cleveland off even more, right? Just dismissive and belittling. When the Heat go to Cleveland, security is going to be off the charts.<>Regarding actual Heat basketball, I found it amusing that after all this "who's going to take the last shot?" talk, it's Eddie House who takes the first game-ending shot. Obviously needing three points changes things, but amusing nonetheless.
i'm in cleveland and I don't think it's bad what he saidwhat is he supposed to say - "brilliant I laughed so hard at their hate for me"instead he acknowledges it laughs with it a little and tosses in a friendly barbthey are trashing him here but he's still never complained publicly about a teammate - he has joy for the game - he's a great teammate from what i can tell - and he doesn't really say a ton of stupid things publiclyi don't even think what he said about race was wrong either - believe me I'd be willing to bet the N word has been said about him a million times since The DecisionNaming that show The Decision was extremely tacky tho

i thought that video response was pretty bad. like just super pathetic.
It came across a bit whiney, but I thought they ended it well by just playing Lebron saying, "I got a goal, and it's a huge goal, and that's to bring an NBA championship here to Cleveland. And I won't stop until I get it." I mean, "and I won't stop until I get it" is pretty funny now.I wish somebody would ask him questions about the above comment, about quitting at the end of game 6, and about the game 5 debacle. By the way, none of this changes the fact that I love watching Lebron play.

That's because whoever is open will end up taking the last shot. That's the point of having 3 stars and role players who can shoot (usually).I thought the Cleveland response was ok; the south park lampoon was better. I can't wait for the Heat to drill Cleveand by 30. They act like they are the first team to lose someone big in free agency and it's just hilarious/sad at this point.

I understand the basketball part of it, but it's just amusing to me after listening to so much debate about who would be the man. However, I'm still not sure you want the guy who was 0 for 7 to take the big shot, even if he is open. Eddie House is ridiculously streaky.______________________________________________________________Whitlock just about ready to trade Bosh away.

Is Bosh a homeless man’s Dirk Nowitzki, a perimeter big man who put up inflated scoring and rebounding numbers because when visiting NBA players cross the Canadian border they put far more effort into acquiring condoms, loonies and a strip-club champagne room than their on-court assignments? On the NBA circuit, Toronto is White Vegas, where jungle fever is celebrated by local strippers and escorts 41 times a year.wow. otherwise, that article reeks of knee-jerk reactions and DRAMA!

I don't hate Bosh, he's a good player who is vastly overrated who has a habit of not being very smart in what he says to the media and is an attention whore. None of those things makes him a bad person.I think people in Miami will see by the end of this season where exactly Bosh ranks on the NBA pecking order and it will be much lower than most people thought before this season started.Remember that I've seen about 90% of Bosh's NBA minutes live or on TV so I know exactly what he brings to a team. I think Love is a better match with LeBron and Wade than Bosh is since he's so much better of a rebounder than Bosh is and is younger, faster and a much better passer.Count the games that Bosh plays well in against the top teams and keep track of it. It's possible he grows as a player and is better in those games by the time the playoffs come around but he's never shown himself to perform well in any games that matter.
I didn't think it would happen this quickly but I knew for sure that Bosh not being the best fit with the Big 2 would be talked about.

It's been 7 games. jfc.Agree that House was not the first choice that night but I'll take an open 3 from him in that situation.....the game was lost in the first half trying to guard Chris Paul with Arroyo. Should be interesting to see how they defend Deron Williams tonight. Towards the playoffs, I think Arroyo won't be playing so much against elite pg's.

I thought it looked like they ran the play for Eddie, and Wade passed up a pretty good look.

Holy Millsap.
more threes tonight than his whole career....amazing.wow Wade dunk in OT. sick.I'd feel much better with Big Z on the floor instead of Haslem. Guy just does not hit enough open jumpers right now, Z knocks them down so well.

But Z can't move on Defense at all any longer so hard to have him out there since so much of playing center in today's NBA is helping on defense.Who was guarding Millsap during most of the game ?

Haslem in the 4th quarter when he went on his three spree. Bosh in the 3rd quarter when he had his first good run. He was hitting tons of long jumpers though not much either could do.

Bigs who can hit the outside shot have always killed Bosh, his perimeter defense like a lot of Bigs is pretty bad. Guys like Dirk and Rashard Lewis love having Bosh guard them.

I wish somebody would ask him questions about quitting at the end of game 6.
Lebron after Jazz come back from 8 down with under 40 seconds left: Wait, you can do that???This is how I experienced the game last night, in this order:1. See final score. Wow.2. What kind of crazy travel schedule are the Heat on? Oh, that was in Miami. Wow again.3. Millsap had 46???4. 11 in the last minute???5. The Jazz were down 20+???Whole lot of question marks. And then I saw the Indiana 3rd quarter and finally buckled under a sea of question marks.

20 straight buckets is insane. Dunleavy was just heaving them up from 3 towards the end.

The Heat were up 8 with 30 seconds left and the Jazz hit 4 straight tough 3s (three by a guy who had hit two his whole career) and then hit a weird putback fallaway at the buzzer just to get to OT. Flukes happen, good for Utah, etc.The play of Haslem and Bosh is much more troubling. Doing a decent job on Deron williams was encouraging. I think the Heat will end up signing Dampier at some point.

Right, but those comebacks do happen from time to time. Maybe give it a shot in an elimination playoff game. I'm really not trying to harp on it; it's just amusingly coincidental that it happened against Lebron the day that I posted something about the Cavs giving up.

oh yeah for sure. Heat win in that situation 99 out of 100....last night was the one time. Not a big deal. Lebron should not have given up in game 6 just like Scottie Pippen should not have refused to go in because Kukoc got the last play call. Athletes screw up sometimes. Lebron had a great triple double last night but his shot selection is still pretty meh so far this year.I have promised myself I won't start making judgements about the Heat until January but it is hard.

Right, but they usually have to answer questions about it. I'm pretty sure I haven't heard Lebron say anything about it. None of it changes my opinion of him; I'm just curious.I think they beat Boston by double digits Thursday.

Nothing would surprise me they are so wildly inconsistent from quarter to quarter right now. Going to see them play next Weds against Phoenix. Excited to see the Heat play an up-tempo oppenent (their fast breaks against New Jersey last Saturday were unreal) and interested to see how badly Nash torches them.

yeah, they got serious point guard defense problems.
