when I first read this, I thought, 'please, God, let Wayne have a daughter playing in this. Otherwise, stalker alert.' Lol

Just kidding, Wayne, your commitment as a parent is amazing.

Thanks and we are only down the street from you

We lost 17-4 in our first game. However they picked my daughter as the MVP from our team

My daughter had another softball tournament today in Etobicoke. It was hot since no shade. What made it worst was that one of the coaches could not make it so the head coach asked me to fill in. I was very aggressive with the runners since I was the 3rd base coach. We played a team from Ottawa and they had some fireball pitcher who just threw strikes and a very high rate of speed. She only needed 10-11 pitches to get out of an inning. After the game I said to enjoy Phaneuf. He came back to me and said don't insult him. He bleeds blue and we joke around after.

The parents however from Brampton were, let's see what can I say, the absolutely worst trash parents I have ever seen. Constant complaining and even the head coach got thrown out of the game. All I can hear were the parents constant non stop complaining in the background since I was the coach closest to their bench and side. These girls are 11-12 years old. Just enjoy being out and seeing your kid compete is worth more to me than winning the game. I absolutely love seeing my daughter just hanging with teammates and competing. It makes my sunburn on my face feel cooler.

Ok so those of you that are following Adrian's career...Season is about to start , however we got some news that Adrian is sidelined for about a week..

Team is going to a "jamboree" this weekend to play 5 games, but Adrian wont be playing as he has a sprained hand..Its wrapped up in sling right now...Great news we had was the xrays showed there is nothing broken, and he should be on the ice in about a week.

The Jamboree is just 5 games before the season starts..Running time for an hour, just to get some game situations in...The plan is for him to be in net for the first preseason game on Sept 10..The preseason game actually means something as the league determines what division we will play in...While he could probably play, the doctor said no activities for a week just to be safe..

This year Adrian is a Peewee...Unlike in Canada where there are 100s of teams our team plays 2 birth years together...In Canada you would have a minor Peewee and Major Peewee....So his team is 2005 and 2004 birth years..Him being 2005..

This year he will be coached by a very good coach, who has a very good resume and is the son of a NHL player, who happens to be one of the original Philadelphia Flyers. Coach is Jay Johnson who played some pro hockey as well, not in the NHL..

He has some amazing stories from "Uncle Bob", Bobby Clarke and lots of NHLers....He is good friends with guys like Theo Fleury, Mike Keane just to name a few..Oh and yes he is Canadian grew up in Winnipeg..

His dad is Jim Johnson who played 300 Nhl games and 157 WHA games..

PS..The younger Bogosyan boy has started skating well...He will be starting house league in January....He looks to be a bruiser

Serge I hope Adrian heals fast.

My daughter finished her first year in select fastpitch. Her enjoyment in the sport has grown alot to the point that she wants to enroll into a winter baseball program to make herself better for next year.

The league had their end of the year banquet for all select players. She found out that she was picked as the team MVP for the year.

Interesting first weekend of the season in our Jamboree...Adrian was on the injury list so he was just a spectator..Our team lost 15-2, 7-4 and 5-2 before winning the final game 8-1...

Since we dont have a back up goalie, we had to call a squirt goalie up to play...He is 9 years old..Our Peewee division is 11 and 12 year olds...Man there are some large 12 year olds...Anyways the kid held his own, but unfortunately was overmatched..Was nice to see Adrian coaching him and giving him encouragement.

Proud goalie dad moment, the organizer in Stockton who runs a high level training program came up to us and said, I figured something was off, Fresno doesnt give up that many goals with you in net. He said he is looking forward to coming to Fresno to watch Adrian play. His nickname in the league amongst opposition is "The Canadian Kid"... He wears his Canadian painted goalie mask proudly.

After being off a week and dodging a huge bullet with no broken bone, he will be on the ice tonight practicing with his team.

The one main thing I noticed in the Peewee division is the discrepancies in sizes...Some 12 year olds are giants, and then there are some that are tiny...Up until a few years ago there was hitting allowed until USA and Hockey Canada raised the hitting age to Bantams.. I personally would like to see all hitting go away for the lower levels. They should maybe start hitting at Bantam but at the AAA level only.

Funny story told to us by coach at the hotel during beer time..

When Colton Orr was sent to the AHL he went to Stockton. His parents know our coach pretty well as they are both from Winnipeg and first thing they did was have Colton call him and ask where do I stay. Jay laughed and said nowhere near Stockton. Stockton is one of the nastiest parts of California. Not a good neighbourhood anywhere, especially with his family. He told him to look for a place in Ripon, a few miles out of the city.

I believe Colton has hung up the skates...Loved that guy as a Leaf

Haha, Devan played a year in Stockton. Highest violent crime rate in the USA

We have travelled all across Ontario and now California I haven't seen a more scary city. We stayed in a semi nice Holiday Inn Express off a major highway. One of the families had their window smashed and 2 iPads stolen. We were warned don't leave valuables in car.

According to the stats.

http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/most-dangerous-cities-in-the-united-states.html

Detroit, Cleveland and Baltimore rank higher than Stockton. I have been in all 3 recently and honestly was not afraid.

I also know that my wife's cousin is a surgeon. She moved to St. Louis because you stated it was where all the action was.

I think with all cities there are certain areas to avoid, and then there are certain nice areas....Thats true of almost every city..With Stockton, there are NO nice areas..Its really weird..

Okay I understand. We don't venture into the bad areas except by mistake. Such as Baltimore and the area smell like a toilet. In Cleveland I got lost when leaving the casino and my GPS went crazy. I swear if anyone would have jumped in front of me when I was driving I would have run them over.

First game of preseason today as we travel to Cupertino and Redwood City...Cupertino is cool, the home of Apple..I love the Bay area..It is one of my favorite places in the world..

We are actually staying in Palo Alto which is the home of Stanford..If you ever get a chance to go in that area, its a school you must check out..I would love it if one of my kids were lucky to go to that school..Its amazing.

I get two late texts last night from parents that one is out with the stomach virus and the other hurt his finger pretty bad...

Injuries are piling up, lets hope we get healthy soon.

Take his name. When she makes the Canadian Olympic team you give him a call back.

I would not be angry if my daughter stinks. She isn't. Runs like the wind and is an excellent defender.

When Otto got cut from select hockey (twice) I did not care. I knew he stunk but he wanted to try out. Actually same thing for soccer too.

First game of the real season starts for Adrian Sunday...We play a 16 game regular season with 3 tournaments in there.

We are favored to win the division and have a good shot at a possible State Championship...

Last year we won the regular season title but fizzled in the playoffs...

Good luck Monsters.

My 12 year old daughter has shown an interest in playing houseleague hockey next year. She has never played hockey and has only figure skated.

I honestly don't know if I want her too now. I think it is too late for her age
