Little update:

Today was the last game of the regular season. Adrian s Fresno Monsters won the division with a 1-1 tie against San Jose.

Finished the regular season 12-3-1. While we lost a couple of the last few games going into the playoffs excited. 2 weeks and playoffs start.

Adrian had a very good regular season giving up 21 goals in 16 games. Which is pretty impressive. The second lowest team gave up 38 goals and most teams were over 60.

Proud dad moment, we are getting calls from all over the state to play in all star tourneys for Memorial Day weekend. One team is going to a very cool tourney in Minnesota. Doubt we will go there , but we will doing something most likely in the LA area.

Adrian was considered a decent goalie in Toronto. Here he is one of the top 2005 goalies in the state. It's a combination of he has gotten a lot better and the obvious fact of lot lesser players.

While the top teams in California can compete and probably beat an average AAA Canadian team, the amount of kids playing is obviously nowhere near that of the GTA. It's just numbers. Make an All star team of 2005 AAA Gthl kids and they would annihilate a top team from California.

Wish us luck as we try and win a state championship.

Havent read the article yet.

Last week on Good Friday I stopped by a local rink with my son to watch a good friends son play in a tournament. I dont care how many times I read stories, or hear about others' experiences, I still get shocked at the utter life+death manner in which parents act at their kids' games.

I had a mom behind me, and she was yelling non-stop, and making SO many commentaries, it drove me nuts after listening to it for an hour. Then her and another father start dissing the coach, about how their coach sucks, doesnt play the right system, coaches son doesnt pass enough, kids are way too undiscplined. I swear, listening to these people, you would swear they invented hockey. And definitely solid parenting of 8 year olds!

I really enjoy watching kids play hockey. Get an extra kick out of it when its a good friends kid, especially some of my close friends who are the most non-hockey guys in the world. And I really wish my kid had played, not for my happiness, but for him to learn about sports, teamwork and making friends. But having to deal with these other people, I dont envy one little bit.

Lets see how the weight loss thread goes before i take you on.

Even though I maybe a little heavy than I want to be I can still run like the wind.

In the past I use to coach Otto houseleague soccer teams for 3 years. At the end of practice I would ask the 10/11 year olds if they think they are fast. They all say yes. So I always say okay let's race 100 metres. At the 50 metre mark I would put on the jets and laugh at the boys all the way to the finish line.

My girls ran in the divisionals today at Varsity Stadium.

My older daughter came in 1st in Long Jump, 3rd in 200m (beaten by a hair), 5th in 400m and 4th in 4x100 relay. She qualifies for the cities in Long Jump since only top 2 advance.

My youngest daughter only ran in the 4x100 relay. The girls are 8 years old (youngest group). A teacher made an error but they ran the race anyways from start to finish. They came in 1st and were thrilled. Got their ribbons. 10 mins latter they asked for a rerun. I said that is crazy. These girls are 8 years old and anything can happen. Well it did, your anchor runner dropped the baton. We are DQ.

I am going to enjoy the thrills of rep sports for one of my kids. Otto tried out a couple of times for hockey and soccer. He always got cut

My daughter receive the word that she was selected for the topham fastpitch team (East York). We will be playing tournaments through out the summer. I told her that if she makes the team I will buy her a very good bat. I always tell my wife do you want to go to a fight with a knife or a gun. I then look at good bats and they are $200+. I guess my daughter will be using a knife

Will be in Oakville tomorrow for the Squirt Girls softball tournament. I am actually pretty excited about this. I just pray the team does not get smoked because they are not that good.

when I first read this, I thought, 'please, God, let Wayne have a daughter playing in this. Otherwise, stalker alert.' Lol

Just kidding, Wayne, your commitment as a parent is amazing.
