I think I would have snap called on that last hand but I guess taking time to think it through makes sense.

I cant imagine how you wouldnt take time, but then again, Im as amateur as they come

I mean, it was only 3min, not that crazy to me. But I dont really know the unwritten rules of poker so what do i know

Not clutch.

Glad you won! I'll probably be scalin back the volume for the playoffs, since I never feel too confident on short slates, but we'll see how I feel about my lineup once the weekend rolls around.   Af

At the Pens practice facility and Rick Tochett ends up standing next to me. It took every ounce of self control to not engage him in a conversation about the Rick Tochett Experience.

he is never ever folding that hand. I'm a limit holdem player where decisions happen fast so I'm biased that way. Taking time on the biggest hand of his life isn't unreasonable. He knows he's never folding but I guess he has to go over in his mind if he can possibly find a fold.

I think the "never/ever" and "he has to go over in his mind" to me are more about the conditions of their minds at that stage, and less to do with the game of poker.

What I mean is, in that state of tiredness, you are no longer sure of what you are seeing/thinking/saying.

Im sure we have all been in that state of doubting what we think/see because we are so tired. I am guessing thats what that was for him. He knew deep down he wasnt folding, I would guess, but to him, he needed to reset and go over everything,.....a sort of am I really seeing what I think I am seeing.

I dont know if that makes sense, but thats how im trying to relate to both players at that spot. I was tired, and I was just watching...until I passed out

I watched it all now.

Maybe he was "extremely tired after an epic battle" and had a call made "that changed his life forever", as you said about Cynn, just 10 seconds before he said those words.

Same battle right?

I feel like I should give anyone who has gone through what these guys have gone through the last few days quite a large benefit of the doubt. I can't even begin to imagine where their head is at, at that moment, but they are nowhere near their most pragmatic and lucid best. I certainly would not take 10 seconds out of 40 hours and make a call on them based on that.

You can see it in Cynn even as he accepts congratulations, he really doesn't know what to do or say. Its way beyond anything we can understand, so to me, I congratulate both of them on a great battle and they both appear to be great guys, at least on camera.

You are probably right.

My personal read from observation is that Cynn is genuinely a nice guy.

He is also the more accomplished player and more experienced of the two by a large margin.

2016 he finishes 11th. It’s a pretty sick run.

Also Bob I think you are right. He is never folding there but he has to take a few moments do make sure to assess the situation in this massive life changing call.

The day before we saw Dyer make a terrible river call for a huge pot that probably cost him big time.

Overall though I’m very impressed with the lack of tanking.

Today the last and most crazy tourney starts. $1 million buy in. Will be interested to see how many players. I predict 28.

Good luck Daniel.

Is someone who won $5 million complaining of being slowrolled?

The amount he "won" is up for debate..But ya..

There were reports they made a deal and only played for about a $million at the end and he had 40% of himself in the event..

So most professional poker players follow certain bankroll management guidelines..

A lot of books and strategies will tell you that you should play tournaments with about 2% of your bankroll. This is probably very conservative but it makes sure a really bad streak of tournaments doesnt bust you. Tourney poker has so much short term variance that this strategy makes sense.

Now we have 24 people so far that have entered this $ 1 million buy in tournament. Are we to believe they are all worth $50 million? Very unlikely..It is also a very common knowledge that most if not all of the entrants have sold pieces of themselves..Some of them very significant pieces of themselves..

I have heard numbers as low as 10% is what a lot of these "pros" are playing of themselves.

Also that 2% number is very conservative, however would you enter a tourney with 20% of your roll to take a shot? 10%?

If you were Cynn or Miles, would you parlay your win into this tourney?

Went to port perry with a friend to try some blackjack switch. They are doing renos to the place and they took out the Poker tables. Said they were not making any money from it

Even though I don’t go very often to play poker at port perry, it’s sad to see it go

That's not good. I only go to a casino maybe 2-3 times a year and only once with Broadway to play poker while I am home.

Now when I travel that's a different story I go all the time. Not to have poker may make me boycott the casino.

Wayne, what is option B? Niagara?

Yes also Brantford which is closer but they are no limit

Woodbine has poker too but it is computer generated. I played it once I misread my cards and went all in and lost to the nuts. It’s also no limit

my understanding is that the computer poker is also gone from Woodbine. Brantford, Rama and Niagara are the options.

Rama is a lot closer than Niagara is from where I live. Head East like going to Port Perry and head up Highway 12 around the East side of Lake Simcoe. Plus traffic is far less most of the time.

For you straight up 404 to the end then across to 48 and then 48 to 12.

While there is still time for a comeback and possibly they will. The Yankees are losing 6-0 and they were -510 at a lot of places. This is almost unheard of in baseball
