Come on, you all know you would do it too! Looks like Ill be there May 30-June 7. I'll have to live with the 8 days only.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
haha, sounds amazing. I wish My wife might divorce me though Life is all about risk/reward. Maybe if you explain to her that this is a once in an annual opportunity to hang out with a guy from the internet that you do fantasy sports leagues with, who you met once for 2hours, and his friends whom you have never met, she would understand the importance of this?

Ottawa_Biatch 288
You going to leave a package for me at the airport? Everytime I hear this, I think of your package of chips, pop, jerky, etc. And I want room service, even though I'm not in a hotel.

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
anybody ever rent a car in Vegas? (I know Chris has come to think of it, since he was kind enough to drive us downtown one year!) any suggestions on what else is available to me once I have a car? considering it for the first time this year, couple of places I want to go off strip which just might make more sense with a car. (one of them is UNLV, the other is the outlet malls) I'm not into touristy stuff, but I'm thinking if I have a car, what else do I have access to I never thought of? Serge, did you buy a house yet? I could do a drive by if you like!

You can visit Red Rock area..Its beatiful...If you really want to drive, you can do Hoover Dam..I have never done that. I would definetely go to the Outlet Mall..Its pretty impressive.. MapleLeafpoker 1,462
thanks maybe Red Rock is an option. Im not huge on the outlets/shopping in general while in LV, but the other guys love to shop, so I end up tagging along.
Untilted 158
Hoover Dam is not that far. You can do it in half a day. Worth the trip just to look down if you are not afraid of heights. The tour is pretty cool too. Whenever I rent a car, I always use Hotwire. I really don't care which company I get since they don't tell you until after you purchase. I have never gotten a company I didn't recognize using Hotwire and it is always on the airport grounds. A lot of times I get less than $10 per day
gruven 530
I rent every time. I save the price of the car just on breakfasts (head off strip to Blueberry Hill for $10 for more food than you can handle as opposed to the $40 continental breakfast at the hotels). Also opens up old Fremont, Red Rocks (great place as serge said), plus golf. I love the freedom of having a car. We also drive to all the WSOP events although last year we just took the limo since it was included in our villa. The one caveat is that I don't drink so I never have to worry about driving while drinking. I recommend it but it's definitely a personal choice.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
thanks for the hotwire tip John. my only issue is that I want to rent from someone within walking distance to MGM, so I need to ensure the location of the pick up. Or go with Enterprise, since they pick me up! Actually they were the cheapest when I checked earlier. I dont even know, do other renters now pickup/dropff too? hotwire is definitely a little cheaper though. Blueberry Hill! Keep forgetting about that place as a "must try to do". Another reason why a car might be good. I just really want it for 1 daytime, to hit up a bunch of places I want to go to. UNLV, shopping, Red Rock, In n Out, WSOP. I'm even curious to check out if Henderson now that Serge called it little Armenia. lol Wouldnt drive it at night at all. Like Chris said, drinking. Thanks guys, anything else you think of is appreciated. No promises I hit it all, cause even the best layed plans fall apart in Vegas.

I wouldnt recommend renting a car anywhere other than the airport..The rental cars are all in their own terminal...Plus the cost of going from Airport to Hotel and back is almost as much as the cost of the car.. Babying 613
I rent a car all the time. Last time with Otto I wanted a small car and Alamo was booked up solid. Had to take the next car coming out and it was a Dodge Durango. Take the car and head to the pinball hall of fame, go to Pawn Stars, Red Rock, scout houses in Henderson for Serge, In n Out, on Maryland is a nice chinese buffet and a Chipotle.
