For those of you who play Rush at the 10NL level (or something similar), just wondering how you've adjusted your game from "regular" poker to Rush. With little information to go on, do you just assume all players fit a certain category and play accordingly? Have you made any noticeable changes to your play, e.g., bet/raise sizes, CB frequency, 2nd bullet frequency, 3-bet frequency, etc? Thanks.

I keep hijacking your threads to say this: Don't play Rush. Now if you insist on it, I won about $200 at 10nl Rush as few weeks ago and all I did was play positionally-aware tight poker. Just basic abc stuff, like raising in position, c/betting and double-barreling the right boards, 3-betting from the BB to btn raisers, folding to 3bets almost always especially if OOP...I never as a rule 3barrel bluff at 10nl, and only double barrel unknowns on scare cards. I'd try to use context clues to get reads on my opponents by looking at stack sizes, their betting actions (like limp/calling pf), and PTR if I was faced with a real decision. This was back when it had first come out. When I quit, the games seemed to have tightened up, and it wasn't really worth it. With such a tremendous volume your RB should be stellar, but when so many hands don't even take a flop then you're getting nothing.

I actually enjoy playing Rush. It works out well for me because I usually don't get a lot if time to play in a day between job, wife, and baby. I can get a lot of hands in in about 30-45 mins. On how to play it, I agree with pretty much everything trystero said. Play fundamentally sound and positionally aware poker. Avoid marginal hands out of position. Pretty much everything he said above. Do that and you'll be profitable.

It's interesting, I did an interweb search yesterday and found a bunch of strategy articles on various websites specifically devoted to Rush. However, almost all of them were written right after it first came out, and I think you're right trystero that the game has changed over time. Most players have caught on to the tight-is-right approach. But there are still many of the typical micro tendencies that can be exploited, and even some adjustments that can be made to capitalize on Rush play (like 3-betting in the BB more often).I like Rush for a few reasons:1) Like Texan I don't get much time to play so Rush allows me to put in good volume in a brief period of time2) Rakeback is huge3) It's a simpler game with so little information at your disposal. I sometimes find that I overthink hands when I'm playing with a HUD because I read too much into stats (or even notes, for that matter). Stats and notes are very helpful but can sometimes result in information overload.4) For a relatively inexperienced player like myself, Rush is a good training ground for developing basic ABC skills.

if ypu wanna get a lot of hands in, play more tables. 6 tabling will get you about 100 hands per hour, so 600 hands an hour total but you have notes, and get to find leaks! 6 tabling= 2 tabling rush,.... with less swings

I dropped down to 5NL Rush to work on my game. I'm starting to pick up on some of the key adjustments. In general I'm really cutting down on marginal spots. When you play so many hands per session, there is just no need to get involved in marginal spots. It's not like regular cash where a cold deck can force you to rely on stealing small pots and mixing it up with marginal hands.

Does this mean that you can't use a HUD with Rush?
