Flush Draw Against Several

Recommended Posts

I played this last night at a local tournament. The starting stack is 2500 and the blinds move every 15 minutes, so its a bit of a crap shoot after about an hour or so. I'd like some feedback on a couple of things.Blinds are 100/200UTG all in for 5252 foldsHero (~5500) with AhQh calls1 foldMP (~4000) calls1 foldLP (~4000) calls1 foldSB (~1700) callsBB (~1800) callsPot = 3350Flop is 5h 7c 9hHero (~5000)?Should I have just called preflop or is raising better? What is the right thing to do on the flop? I don't like a check because its important to accumulate chips when you get a chance in this tournament because it plays like a turbo. Pretty much any bet commits both of the blinds, so I'm not sure how to handle this since I've just called preflop.Reads are UTG is "Tired of sitting here," MP is new, never played with, younger guy, LP is likely calling because of position and pot size, SB is weak/tight likely calling because of pot size and being partially in, BB is just bad, could be anything here. Thanks for the help.

Just shove the flop. If you take it down that's fine and if not then you have great equity.I think I re-raise pre. I'd love to isolate the shortie all in.
isolate isolate isolate. and shove this flop every time, 2 overs and the nut flush, every time man!

I actually did shove the flop and a player I think generally plays good thought I should have checked. My thoughts were that its more important to get the chips now than to worry about knocking someone out especially early in a largeish field.I thought that if I could get it down to just the all in and I that I had a great chance to increase my stack by 50% without much risk and even if i get called I have 9 clean outs plus the A and Q may be good.I just had to make sure I didn't forget how to handle that situation.

The guy wanted you to check because he wants a free shot to take the pot given the dry sidepot justification. I understand where he's coming from if it's close to the $$ or whatnot, but just shove this, and you're fine. Also, shove pre.
