i understand the ratings , but there is something wrong with people who rather watch ice dancing than Canada/USA Olympics match.
Yeah, well what's wrong with them is they have an XX chormosome.
help me out, what am I missing? The fashion of the hats? I dont know too many women into horse racing.
Women are into horses, not horse racing. I don't know what it is, I think it's some sort of primal sexual thing from riding them or something, but every other girl I grew up with loved horses when they were a kid, and it doesn't go away when they get older. It's not the racing they are into, it's just the beautiful horses.

And you'll be gay.

Those Dufour-Lapointe sisters are pretty sweet looking.   Plus that Indian guy on the Luge is a freak.

I dont think its JUST women..We have women in Canada too you know...And if dancing was shown ahead of a Canada/USA game there would be riots on the street..Its just an example of the sad state of hockey in the US..SIDE NOTE:The US women are looking good against China..Cant wait for the Gold medal game Canada /USA

Yes, but you also have a culture that rates hockey as the most popular sport, by a long, long shot. In the USA hockey, for the country on a whole, is around 15th. If they put ice skating on instead of a regular season NFL game ( much less the superbowl) there would be riots here too. My original answer has two parts two it, that women like ice skating more than men like hockey by a factor of ten. It's not that ice dancing is so popular with women ( though it's decently popular), it's that ice hockey is utterly unpopular with men. Hockey is basically never on network TV, because it gets rotten ratings.

10.5 is so crazy. USA and canada must be the only countries that even have competitive women's hockey.
This is true...Its not even close...I saw a play in this game I have never seen before...its 5-5 USA is just running the play in the China zone like its a power play...They made a change while having possession and kept on controlling the play without giving up the puck..Just hilarious to see.

The number of registered female hockey players in Canada and the US is enormous compared to other countries. They showed the stat 0n TV a few days ago and I believe Canada had approximately 77,000 registered female players and Russia had about 400.

WEEE...US covers on a last minute goal..i am undefeated in Olympic Hockey..lol
Apparently, all these years with sand in your vagina when it comes to hockey have given you an intuitive grasp of the women's game!

True, it doesn't require a whole lot in the "balls" department to go out on a limb by picking Canada and the USA in women's hockey does it?

It takes balls to place a bet to cover an 11 goal spread, I don't care who ya are. :club:

Ok I maybe late to this party, but I'm gonna voice my opinion on USA/Canada on MSNBC.I LOVE IT. Why you may ask, because of those **** stains at NBC that have to have everything on Tape Delay. So MSNBC not being an East/West station means I actually get to watch the game live. In the end NBC can still **** off, but at least this decision helps me watch this game live. Unlike the Gold Medal game which I get to watch on Tape Delay. Thanks NBC you can go jump off a cliff.

i totally get your point..I HATE TAPE DELAY..And I hate how they try and hide the fact..Sometimes if CTV is showing something on tape delay, they clearly tell you its not live..With the age of the internet and instant info, its stupid to watch stuff on tape delay..

of course the computer sucks in comparison, but the benefits of watching it live would have to outweigh those of waiting and trying to avoid the news just for a better picture quality if it was up to me.

The Alexandre Bilodeau story of how he got into skiing and gave up hockey, to try and spend time with his brother with cerebral palsy, is very touching and incredibly inspirational. The way he talks about his brother, and how his brother has been an inspiration to him, was very touching. Also, I cant believe this guy is 22yrs old, he has maturity beyond his years. What a great guy to win our first gold. I am sooo into this Olympics now.

k, I need something to bet today since it's a holiday and no work. No college basketball, no NBA basketball, no curling, no NHL hockey, so I'm betting on women's hockey!I feel very unpatriotic making this bet, lol, but I just think everyone is going to be pounding Canada to cover this spread. And Switzerland didn't look that bad against Sweden. I don't think it'll be close, but I don't think Canada wins by 11. Therefore....Switzerland (+10.5) over CanadaDrop of the puck: 5:30pm on TSNp.s. Go Groveeeeeeeeeeeeees

It's always the back stories that make the olympics so great. I am amazed how much time and effort these athletes put into their sport. Bilodeau has been waiting 10 years for that 23 seconds.
