serge 904
great game...Jonas Hiller should be crowned king of Switzerland..
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I was stressing out the OT, because I took Switzerland to win the game, at 28-1. Then I started to consider hedging my bet with a inplay Canada win, when they got to even odds. Not knowing the OT rules, wasnt sure if I even could truly hedge. Until OT started, I didnt realize that a 60min tie was a loss for me with Swiss. It would have been pretty sweet to hit a 28-1 longshot in a hockey game, I gotta admit. Hiller did exactly what I thought he would, come up huge against a big team. I think Canada might really regret this game, this might force them to play against a CZE/Slovakia instead of someone weaker in next round.

Speed Limit 0
This whole game I kept saying to myself "Why the hell is Canada just not scoring goals?" Then Jonas Hiller is all "glove save this, kick save that, sprawling butterfly over here, poke check over there"

Then Jonas Hiller is all "glove save this, kick save that, sprawling butterfly over here, poke check over there"Yeah, that's pretty much it. Just shows you how important a hot goalie is in a format like this. What were the shots in this game?Even then, though, Switzerland had some time where they were controlling the play in the Canadian end, and had some pressure on them. That can't happen against a team like Switzerland, IMO.
GWCGWC 83
CNBC had to show the USA women's curling event in it's entirety. The hockey coverage started 17 minutes into the first period. That sucked. great game...Jonas Hiller should be crowned king of Switzerland..stars name?I should have known better when you wanted to bet TWO units. Canada had a lot of passes through the crease to open sticks that were either too hard or bouncing. A team has to take advantage of at least a few of those chances to win by 5. I still think Canada looks way better than the US. This whole game I kept saying to myself "Why the hell is Canada just not scoring goals?" Untilted 158
Question of the day:It is pretty common knowledge that there are only seven hockey teams with a realistic chance for a medal. How far are we from having an eigth team join the group? Can Switzerland be that eigth country? Is Germany the better option?Or can we forget the posibility and no team will join the elite seven in the next twenty years as medal contenders?I am an optomist and want hockey diversity and would love to see Switzerland and Germany as medal contenders even if it is just for the bronze

Greiss isn't a world-beater (yet) in net but they have a lot of defensive minded guys, they seem to know how they have to play, and have a few guys who can finish.
bdc30 0
I have not been impressed at all by the Russians at any point in their games. They're playing like a bunch of individuals (I say as they score obv)

bdc30 0
really? vs Latvia? I've never seen a more skilled team that can't run a goddamn powerplay.
Ottawa_Biatch 288
for the guys who bet that curling parlay I stated a couple pages back, we won, lol
coesillian 0
Why didn't they give Zenik a penalty shot. i thought he had a clear break to the net unless there was another defender off screen that I didn't see. or was it becasue there was only 1.1 sec left?

Jokes jokes jokes. Yeah I think early on they had it all going, and got lazy as the game wore on, realized they would just have to go through the motions of finishing the full 60 mins. Orcasgt22 0
Pittsburgh Penguins on steroids?Even Pittsburg gets the odd PP goal. Russia is 1-13 for a 7.69% PP. For such a stacked line-up this is horrible. There is alot of very weak penalties being called yet some of the most obvious ones are not getting called. I have seen at least a dozen hits from behind and hits to the head that should be called under IIHF rules, and usally are.Go scroll down to the attendance part. How the hell is canada not the lead here

ajs510 122
Thinking about going all in today on Czech Republic (-3) over Latvia at -140. Anyone want to talk me out of it?
mrdannyg 274
Thinking about going all in today on Czech Republic (-3) over Latvia at -140. Anyone want to talk me out of it?Wait 3 minutes, then bet in-play at -2.5.That is based on absolutely no knowledge, but I'd hate betting an even spread.
serge 904
After watching the last few games, I wouldnt bet anyone at -3 to be honest...The smart money is betting dogs still IMO..Does that mean Latvia covers, i dont know, but having to win by 4 goals while laying juice seems a bit wrong..but then again Latvia isnt one of the top teams..
