Ottawa_Biatch 288
Last night was horrible. Going to get them back today in the early curling matches. Curling Parlay. - Canada to beat Sweden- Great Britain to beat Switzerland. Looking at the hockey tonight, the Russian spread on Slovakia looks really low at -2.5? I mean if the Czech beat the Slovaks, by 2, the Russians surely can beat them by 3 on an extra days rest? Any insight from anyone? Huge sweat tonight with everyone?

Ottawa_Biatch 288
that game last night was really good..the first good game of the tourney...I didn't get a chance to watch it, do you think the Slovaks can keep up with the Russians?
serge 904
I didn't get a chance to watch it, do you think the Slovaks can keep up with the Russians? Not sure but they have a good goalie and Gaborik was looking good last night..Having said that the Russians have had some time to gel, as they were looking better later on in the game..tough to say
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
that game last night was really good..the first good game of the tourney...I agree. I watched the first 2 periods before I passed out. Biatch.....FWIW, that was actually a very close game for the 2 periods I saw. With the game tied 1-1, Hossa (SLV) hit the post, and then Cze got a lucky bounce, Jagr scored, and that changed all the momentum it seemed. It was really a VERY close game. I think the Slovaks are good. The only thing is, not sure if playing back-to-back will affect them tonight, and no idea if Russia will get its PP going.

ajs510 122
I've got $50 on the US Women to beat Finland by better than 6.5, and obviously I took the over in that game for another $50 since it's set at 7.5. Too bad my site isn't into the parlay thing for the Olympics or I would have hit that for another $50.Not really liking any of the Men's lines today.

Take a top team like say the Capitals and a bad team like the Oilers. If they were playing one night, I still wouldn't wager the Capitals -2.5 over the Oilers. This situation is kind of the same, the Russians are a top tier team, but the Slovaks aren't Latvia, they are NHL calibre, and I think they can keep it close, and maybe 2 times out of 8 even beat the Russians. So I think I'm going to lay off on this game.
gruven 530
I tell you what... I think the play tonight might be under in the women's game.... Finns arent likely to score.... and I suspect that Mel Davidson might just take her foot off the gas tonight, cos the canadian team is defending themselves against a shitstorm of criticism for the blowouts... I see this game as a potential 5-0, 6-0 deal for canada. 8-0 to lose looks pretty good, depending on the juice..

serge 904
After watching the Swiss play the trap against the US, I would be shocked if the Canadians can cover 4.5 goals...IMO Switzerland is a MUCH better team than Norway with a MUCH better goalie..It would be really impressive if Canada wins this game large..I dont see it, but I have obviously been wrong before..What do you guys think?? I know Chris got the sched wrong, but I think the under in the next US/Canada games might be a good play. I say this because of all the controversy going on (that Chris alludes to). I think there might be fears of the IOC considering taking out womens hockey if things dont start to get a little more competitive. I know it seems far fetched, but I imagine to these ladies, nothing could be worse than losing the right to play for gold every 4years, no matter how unlikely. Maybe the Canadians and Americans take the foot off the pedal.

I watched both of these games and Canada looked incredible. I was just floored watching the passing, speed, puck handling and shots on goal. I think Canada would have won that game by multiple goals if they gave up a player and went 4 on 5 for one entire period. The US didn't have this look vs Switzerland. I know Switzerland is supposed to be better than Norway but I think Canada just crushes the game tonight. This game was at the crux of my DVR conundrum. I had Survivor, Canadian Mens hockey, Nuggets/Cavs and the NBC coverage which is mostly ice skating but will have some coverage of events I want to see. Ultimately I went with NBA and a hockey dream team.I'd like to make a bet on Canada up to $30. If anyone wants the action or wants to book the bet online for me, lemme know. I have Stars or FTP monies only.
