If sitting in the seats, clockwise would be right to left and counter clockwise left to rightthink of viewing the arena from directly overhead. Does the wave sweep in the same direction as the hands on a clock?

The correct way for the wave to go is NOT AT ALL. Just shows you, the leafs are so bad that fans that haven't been able to get a ticket since 1983 are now getting into the ACC....

usually comes from your left, and goes to your right, thus - counter clockwise imo.
Yeah, this is the way I've always seen it. First "wave" I've seen at a sporting event in many years.

bah humbug. The ACC could use a little injection of fan-dom if you ask me. Pisses me off to no end to see the bottom half of the lower bowl empty for the first 10min of every period.

Would you pay 4 bills to watch that team most nights?

What basis do you make this analysis?Curious

I honestly don't think there is a incorrect direction for the wave.
There isn't. There is however a correct direction, and that is counter-clockwise. When you motion, do you generally go to your right or left? Right. Unless you're a dirty lefty, but thankfully those dirty, smelly, ugly lefties are still outnumbered by us normals.

This brings up another question...what determines handedness? Is it the hand you write with?
I'd say that's the basic function that would determine it. A lot of people can do different things with both hands but I'm pretty much left handed with everything but throwing a frisbee and cutting steak.

What about throwing a steak or cutting a frisbee?

Do you want me to throw the steak like a baseball (or football, etc) or a frisbee? As for cutting I think generally people will hold the knife with their dominant hand and the fork in the opposite hand that they would otherwise. In my case I cut my right hand and continue to hold the fork with my left like I normally would.

At SBP, the wave goes clockwise. There's one like every game I've been too. I didn't know the wave was dead, I guess we're behind the times in Ottawa.
I haven't been to a Tigers game in the last 15 years where there hasn't been the wave and it goes counter clockwise. But I have never experienced the wave at the Joe for a Wings game.
