qyayqi 11
it looks like we could see each province & state have their own edition of the same software, allowing only their residents to log in BUT allowing all the players across north america to play against each other. they'd each get to collect their piece of the action while giving a big enough player pool for it to be attractively legal to play.if someone had the software developed, it could be profitable to jump in there and offer to administer it all across the board. well, would have been profitable about 6 months ago to approach them all with the idea. if it is government run, it'll be much more expensive resulting in higher fees/rake/etc. and gov't has a history of running this sort of thing poorly. Pot Odds RAC 23
I hate when the Government embarks on a business venture with the Intent of directly competing with Private Businesses. Their intent is to "Canabalize" existing businsess. Really? Is that the proper role of Government?
Stiles2004 0
When something is 'fun', the government rarely does it as well as private business. Liquor sales, for example. They have shorter hours and higher prices. In Ontario, think of Proline compared o a Vegas sportsbookGood for them for trying but I can't see it being very good

grocery_mony 8
We are supposed to be doing the same thing in BC this year. Such a small pool of players I would imagine that its hardly worth it.

armen13 0
As long as there are no restrictions imposed on the existing popular sites, I think it could be very good for poker. Poker is still booming here. Don't know if the site will be any good. Judging from loto quebec's track record, they could impose super high rake.
armen13 0
Does the PPA have any presence in Canada? Curious what it would think of such a development.
silkyjonson 1
As long as they don't limit access to other sites I think its fine, some people probably would'nt play on other sites due to fear of corruption and may play on these sites.
mase_gotsem 0
i dont mind the higher rake if the games are softer wld be nice to go sit at a 5/10 game and have ppl donk off with middle pair and what not like the good o days.
