KingJames 11
I dunno how fighter is so good at the internet, but I want to be like him when I grow up.Also, I finally got around to watching some DrGiggy videos from Bluefire and wow! I've watched a lot of training videos from DC and CR, but I was blown away by DrGiggy's thought processes and how well he expresses himself. And the French-Canadian accent and how he says some words is really great.

DiamondDixie 12
Hi guys, I'm not really posting in general forum much anymore except for legislation stuff but you guys are great and you know your stuff when it comes to cash games. After a prolonged stretch of MTT runbad, or play bad - probably some of both, my bankroll suffered greatly so I decided to take the $11 I had on Carbon (had been playing MTTs on Hero) and work on grinding it up starting at 4NL. I'm 7 days in and up to $75 over about 7000 hands so pretty decent results for 4NL, I guess. Anyway if it's okay with you all I'd love to post interesting or difficult hands for your expert advice. I don't really have any that stand out so far but I'm sure I will. Thanks and good luck to all you cash grinders.I'm DiamondDixie1 on Carbon btw.
CobaltBlue 662
Thanks, KJ.Played ~6 hours yesterday. Lost 5bi overall...though only -$450 or so since I won at 2/4 and 3/6. Got freaking trounced at 1/2 though. Lost KK all-in four times. Definitely questioning the wisdom of trying to build a Merge roll at those levels. So recent observations...People never seem to fold their donkbets anymore. Like, they're doing it with draws and weak top pairs a lot...and basically just call any raise. I've considered over-raising for value to compensate for this. And more broadly speaking, people generally aren't folding...this has had the effect of stopping me from c-betting/semi-bluffing/bluffing as much...and just rely on the cards...which is kind of frustrating and brings more variance back into the game. So just make really big, exploitative bets with your value hands, and stay patient. It's nice to have gotten from ~3 buy-ins to almost 20, so just keep grinding.glglAnd Marchant, wrt donk bets, are you talking about in 6max/FR games? And late position vs blinds mostly? Hardly any donk bets of course, but you always know where you stand even at the .05/.10 level and could provide a break from the other sites that just throw money at any draw potential or middle/thin top pair (and seem to freaking catch everytime ha!). Played in a live tournament and some cash games this weekend trying to get some practice in for a 27.5k guaranteed payout at the end of the month. Came in 11th out of 50 plus in the tournament and netted $225 in the cash games over about a 5 hour span. I'm thinking the 11th place isn't a strong enough small field finish to spearhead me into finishing ITM in the big boy tournament but oh well, I'm gaining some experience at least! Felt good to make the trip worth while in the cash game though.
CobaltBlue 662
And Marchant, wrt donk bets, are you talking about in 6max/FR games? And late position vs blinds mostly?Well, HU through FR...I guess mostly SH on average. For a little while there, it seemed like they'd donk a flush or straight draw and then call whatever I raised...and then get there on the turn at the same time I'd make two pair or something. When I would get frustrated, I'd proclaim that I was just going to start overjamming for value. Probably mostly a matter of sample size, but people do seem more cally/stubborn than they used to be when raising donkbets was just inducing folds and printing money.bat, not familiar with HiLife. Merge is already too nitty for my tastes...though I'm still going to try to work up a roll there. Got beat up pretty bad yesterday, so I'll be dropping down to 100nl there. (Though still cruising fairly steadily at 400nl/600nl elsewhere.)
