SuperJon 175
No, but I don't shoot pool. I will be back in Denver Friday, for a few weeks. So we clearly should go to rack em billiards. Then after we play some poker with my friends. Then we see who sucks at 3betting Sweet, stop on by if you can. It's on the corner of Havana and Jewel in Aurora. They do have one of those free poker tournaments where you can win cash/bar tabs. It's about the only NL I've played since I've moved here. Easy players, tons of variance. Blinds at 500/1000, guy called 8k pre with K7o. I'm down for a home game possibly, if I can fit it into my budget. Not entirely sure with the xmas coming up and all that jazz. What do you guys usually do?
KingJames 11
Yeah I'll hit you up next week sometime and we can play some pool. And yeah, we just play some 25nl deeeeeeeep; it'll be fun. I'll let you know when we're gonna have a game.

CobaltBlue 662
And right here lies the entire problem with why you don't understand why it's laundering. It doesn't matter if you don't think it's dirty money. It doesn't matter if I think we should have the freedom to do whatever with money. It doesn't matter if it's flat out morally right or wrong. What matters, and all that matters, when figuring out if something is legal, are the laws and definitions currently in place. Thinking anything else is a huge huge huge error in reasoning. What's right/wrong is not even close to equivalent to what's legal/illegal. It's a broken country, get used to it or join the pissed off masses contemplating revolution. And yes, the moment you change that bitcoin you got back from the poker room into real dollars into your bank account, you have laundered money since *you* tricked the bank into processing funds from an original source it is not allowed to process from. So, while playing on FT and PS was fine for the players since we were not the ones responsible for tricking the banks, this operation makes *you* assume the liability. Now, it certainly decreases the odds of you getting caught. However, be aware that you are indeed breaking the law once you spend those bit coins on United States goods or currency, and weigh the risk/reward. I guess we're in disagreement as to the legality. The UIGEA is the only thing that's on the books...and it's a pretty terribly (vaguely) written law. Paraphrasing here, but it states that banks can't handle illegal online gambling transactions...but then doesn't define what that means. Thus, the banks have generally taken a pretty conservative view. Online poker certainly isn't a violation of the wire act and there was that ruling not long ago that it's a skill game (and thus rather separate from other types of gambling). SuperJon 175
Played one of those free poker tournaments last night. You win money to use at the bar if you come in top 3 I think. Bad players galore, but it's fun and nice to socialize. I raise AQo, some chick on the button 3bets me. I fold face up, she shows AK. Another hand I check BB with As7x. Flop is Ah 10s 8s. SB checks, I bet. Everyone folds, SB calls. Turn is 6s. SB CRAI. Only getting 2:1, so I fold and she shows flush. Looking back, I have no idea why I bet the turn.

KingJames 11
Yeah, it's not Florida! I went to Naples in January and it was amazing! Yeah, it's far away because traffic and such in Denver tilts me.
SuperJon 175
Agree about traffic. It's horrible here. It's been 3 months, and I've been on the highways once. The worst part is the fact that most of the left turn lanes don't give you an arrow, so that lane gets backed up while people wait for oncoming traffic.
KingJames 11
XXEddie got 4th in a WSOPC event in Colorado for like $5k (350 buy in?). He went into the FT 4th in chips but lost KK < 99 4 handed :-( Good score though buddy.

I saw they have some $100-$200 tournaments in Blackhawk. You know anything about those? Structure? Payouts?

You know anything about those? Structure? Payouts? Structures are going to be fast - for any daily donkament, somewhere between 20-40 minute long levels. Blinds will double often. But the players are likely lol-bad.
