This deserves to get seen by a few more people. From our resident Stupidhead...v1.27Feral Cow Poker Hand ConverterHEM/Poker Stars NL Hold'em $1.00/$2.00 - 6 playersButton: $237.98SB: $200.00BB: $60.00

I remember when this thread was all about how bad KJ was at 3betting

He's probably not flatting KJ's raise otf if he had a2. Besides, A2 is such a small portion of his range here, we are never ever ever ever ever ever ever folding the turn. People are stupid, they do

I managed to get myself into a bit of a pickle here because of deepaments. Villain is 15/13 over 308 hands, I have him tagged as 4 tabling rush rega and has 33% (2/6) fold to 3bet.feral_cow_icon.gifFeral Cow PokerFull Tilt No-Limit Hold'em $0.10/$0.25 - 9 playersCO: $34.32 Button: $46.19 (Hero)SB: $51.75 BB: $40.68 UTG: $10.00 UTG+1: $27.07 MP: $27.40 MP2: $13.25 HJ: $50.27 Preflop: ($0.35) Hero is Button with :5c:4h (9 players)4 folds, HJ raises to $0.75, CO calls $0.75, Hero raises to $3, 2 folds, HJ raises to $7.50, CO folds, Hero calls $4.50Preflop I think is fine. We are deep but I don't want to play KK 3 way here really so I think 3betting is good and calling the 4bet is probably best if there is ever a chance he thinks I am FOS also if I 5 bet I have no idea if he continues with anything other than AA.The problem is the turn I am not really sure what my plan should be here. How many barrels I should be calling down and if he gives it one barrel then gets passive should I be betting for value ever?Flop: ($16.10) :club::ts:3h (2 players)HJ bets $11.75, Hero ?

call imo, raising doesnt accomplish much here bc villain folds all his semibluffs and air here. you may be folding a lot of turns to double barrels, but i doubt you get double barreled too light here. any notes on his postflop aggression? if he fires second barrels a lot this may turn into a call 3 streets spot. I dont think we can ever fold yet but we clearly are not too thrilled. the only way i think a raise otf makes sense if we think this type of villain will see it as weaker, and i doubt thats the case in 25nl bc he probably will go zomg he raised me i gotta fold down to more or less the nuts

I ahve him at 29% turn cbet, aggression frequency as 40% flop, 35% turn and 29% river.

I actually think we can fold the flop; people don't often 4 bet light I don't think even HJ vs. BTN and I don't think they 4bet worse for value either. The flop sizing means that any bet on the turn will be a pot-size jam and without the Kh there are very few turn cards we like. Also if we plan on folding turn we're going to get very little value when we're ahead.Disclaimer: I haven't played poker in months, it's been even longer since I've played FR

Are we just calling the 4 bet to set mine kings here then? If so does that make flatting KK preflop the better play?

Remember he won't auto cbet every flop either, and he might get wonky with sizing too, I think flatting the 4bet is good and it's super exploitable if you fold pre (although maybe folding the flop is super exploitable too). It would be more fun if you were like 400bb deep because you could flat the flop and then bluffraise scary turn cards :club:

I'll try and get 400bb deep just to try bluff raising the turn ;)Here are the results. Station gonna station.

call with the intention of trying to get to a somewhat cheap slowdown isnt a bad plan. when you get checked to twice part of me wants to go for thin value on the river thou

i dont disagree that against some villains we do have to bite the bullet and fold the flop, but in rush unless we seriously have played a sh*t ton of hands against this person idk how we could let it go that quickly. In a rush tourny ( i havent played rush cash in forever but they should be similar) this was often times weakness more then strength imo. most people dont 4 bet 10's for value pre ( i guess it could happen) so it is either an AQ, AK hand or AA most of the time imo. If say we were playing none rush against someone we know is a nit and he never donk bets light or ever 4 bets, yah we can let this go on the flop then

(Rake: $0.99)Villain is 20/17 with 25% 3bet over a very very small sample size of 30 hands, felt AJ with position was solid enough, and that calling on the flop was absolutely necessary. When he checked the turn, I was pretty sure I had him beat, but, thought checking behind was the best option here so I don't get raised, or have some huge pot on the river where I won't know where I'm at. How should I have played it?
