BaseJester 1
I remember Chris Ferguson says he raises more with better position. He does so his raises gain more credibility from latter position. In contrast, a raise from UTG / UTG +1 / MP1(if 9-handed) represents strength regardless how small the raise is.Anyone find this logic would be applicable, like ever(at the tables you play)? trystero 0
hmm, being OOP sucks. We're not folding, trying to think if it's best to just bet or c/c. I probably go ahead and shove tbh. I think after we call the turn he's gonna check a lot of his jacks back, and we're gonna get owned by FHs
Syntonic 0
Isn't shoving such a weird line, though? If he's sitting there with a jack, what would he put you on? I think in order for your story to be believable, you should have raised him earlier to get stacks in.I think this is a pretty weird spot. I would normally raise him on the flop or turn, but as played I would c/c the river. I think he's still going to value bet KJ/AJ and maybe QJ. That paired 7 is actually pretty good if flopped bottom two.

That paired 7 is actually pretty good if flopped bottom two.Let me say first that I don't think much of this matters because it's 10nl, and if he's sitting there with a jack then he's going to call our river shove regardless. But with that said, your description makes it sound like we look FOS (not believable, we'd have raised earlier to get stacks in, etc). So if he's one of the rare 10nl players who's actually thinking, then wouldn't we WANT to shove QQ here because our line doesn't make any sense, and nonsensical lines tend to inspire calls and not folds?I prefer the shove because I think that he checks back many hands after we've called $2 on the turn. AJ will bet, but I'm not so sure about QJ/JT or even KJ. We're going to lose to FHs anyway, because we're never c/fing this benign river. All we can get value from by c/cing that we don't get by betting is bluffs, and I don't see him spazzing out with a third barrel, and the only legitimate draw did get there (56).
