How To Make The Neg O More Popular

So playing the Neg O the last few Wednesdays has made me wish for back when there was a mid-to-big field and it was more fun that way. I am just curious as to how we can make it so more of you would want to play in it. Please give advice such as specific prizes that would make you want to play, etc. Let's brainstorm and see what we can come up with!

Make the time a bit more reasonable! It doesn't start until 1am over here so I can never play. Also if it was a Friday or Saturday rather than a Wednesday I would be more inclined to play. (some of us have work in the morning!)

I will set this up this wednesday if I have time. I get home about 20-30 minutes before it starts on Wednesdays, so would be a quick setup.

Probably not. Would be great. Or even have a prize that is DN related would be good to me. Make the Neg O like the Protege contest. That, or, at the bare minimum, have DN make a deal with some of the high roll FCPers (Gib, NNB, BKice as just examples) take turns playing in it. I don't know. Just wish more people would be in every week.

I don't necessarily agree with #3. Yea a lot of people who used to post here and play in the neg-o don't frequent FCP anymore. FCP could always attract new members though. It is always hard to find a day that works for everyone. Saturday would be the best day for me. People are off work and it is not a Sunday where people are playing other stuff. On the other hand FCP doesn't seem like it gets much traffic on Saturdays so that might not work. Even though people are playing other stuff I think Sunday would be good since most people are online more it seems like with all the tourneys.Maybe mixing up the prizes. Maybe pokerstars prizes? 1st place wins satellite into Sunday Million?I don't think the number of entrants has anything to do with updating the points (sorry Master Yoda don't freak out).To be realistic the only way to save the Neg-o is for DN to win two major tourneys in 1 year again lol.

FCP no longer has a poker room, and with the mass exodus of the best strat members on here leaving in the past year, FCP will never go back to the way it was.

No, but that contributed a lot to FCP's early success as a forum. Plus, back in 2005-2006 (the time when many of those members joined) the poker boom was still relatively new, and Daniel was extremely popular for people just discovering the game.Plus, there's not near the effort to create great players on this forum as there has been in prior years.

everyone else's answers are right on. As for the timing of the game, I'm the opposite. While playing keeps me up an hour or two more than I would normally be on a wednesday night, I can deal with a tired thursday at the office. Friday-Sunday is pretty chalk full of IRL events. The only thing that could make a positive gain of players maybe could be sunday night.....but that doesn't chance the whole "people have to work in the morning thing" and I'd rather be tired on a thursday than on a monday.That said, this is just a lot of "I" stuff....but I don't think a weekend game would garner that much better.
