gatortom64 1
12:57pm: One of the best ROIs ever...You know how we mentioned Darren Keyes just a moment ago? Well, even if he were to get knocked out right now, he would be cashing in one of the best returns ever. For that story, we turn to special correspondent Bryan Slick, tournament guru for PokerStars. The PCA Mega-Path was created as a way to give players an opportunity to get to an expensive event for a small buy-in, in some cases extremely small. This was accomplished by hosting a series of 4,300 MTTs which led to a final on December 20th, the direct buy-in cost for which was 321,000 FPP. A dozen players reached the PCA having started at a buy-in level of 200 FPP or less. One of those, Darren 'Woodylord' Keyes, is still alive as I write this... having gotten in via a 75 FPP Round 1 satellite and working his way to and through the final. With 55 players remaining, he's guaranteed to win at least $45,000... a staggering ROI of 3.75 Million per cent.Few things we do when setting up tournaments, especially satellites, are as thrilling as seeing players get the opportunity to live out a dream. Not only do tournaments like the PCA give players the chance to compete on an even playing field with the world's best, the satellites to the events provide an opportunity for just about anyone to make their way here. How could you NOT be excited seeing someone like Darren with a mountain of chips in front of him deep into this event? I wish him the best of luck, especially after having met him. fright101 0
That's okay, the Bahamas is a rat hole. But if it means saving upwards of $700K in taxes, I would put serious thought into flying directly to Panama and living there until the taxes are free from US confiscation.Of course I have no clue if this is even possible.I agree Bahamas is gross... But conch fritters are great! I'm not sure if that is possible either. Maybe Bob knows? I know Peter Eastgate tried to move when he made the final table of the WSOP b/c of his countries tax laws. He tried to move to Monacco to prevent the taxes but last I heard he had 'issues' with that...I would do that same thing Mr. Balloon.

You still owe them. It isn't like you can just stay away until you spend the $. You'll likely have to return at some point and you can't just say: "I don't have that money anymore." gatortom64 1
Mizrachi with Double EliminationHuck Seed Eliminated in 50th Place ($45,000)Soren Kongsgaard Eliminated in 51st Place ($45,000)We walked over to Robert Mizrachi's tabled and saw him stacking a massive amount of chips. Next to the table stood Soren Kongsgaard and Huck Seed, both of them without chips. Asking Mizrachi what happened, here's what we gathered.Mizrachi opened the pot with a raise before Kongsgaard fired all in. Seed then moved all in behind Kongsgaard and Mizrachi made the quick call. Mizrachi has two aces, Kongsgaard with pocket sevens and Seed with pocket queens. What a spot for Mizrachi to pick up bullets.Mizrachi informed us that he went on to make quad aces on the hand and send both Kongsgaard and Seed packing. Mizrachi is now pushing 2.7 million chips.MBFN

Dapper Dan G 0
3.50pm: Gimbel v DuthieHarrison Gimbel just took a fairly decent slice out of John Duthie on the table of the big stacks. Duthie raised to 55,000 in the cut off and Gimbel re-raised to 160,000 on the button. Duthie called. The flop was A♦J♥5♣ and Duthie bet 230,000, which Gimbel called. The turn was T , which they both checked, and the river was 3♥ which Duthie checked, inviting a bet of 600,000 from Gimbel. Duthie folded.

It's taxable income. Tax law is smart enough to just not allow everyone in the world to earn money and then give it away as "gifts"
