Poker Stars Vip Improvements For 2010

Recommended Posts

I get 1.48 VPP/hand at 10/20 this year. How much will this go up next year %age wise do you think?about 10%?
I guess it's going to depend on the mix you play. 5 handed will be 10% more on raked pots, 4 handed will be 37.5 % more. 6 handed is going to depend on the mix of $2 and $3 raked pots.My guess is between 15% and 20% increase for 10/20 6-max limit but that's just off the top of my head and I could be way off.
I played my first session of the year yesterday.530 hands of 10/20 6 max limit and I earned 906.34 VPP's which is 1.71 VPPs per hand which is an increase of about 15% more than under the old system.I also earned the first $10 of the Stellar Rewards for 750 VPPs

I play FR 1/2 Limit while trying to clear bonuses. I was just figuring the Math on this as there are a lot of raked pots under $1. So take a look at my math here and tell me if I'm off.Old System.50 rake in pot= 1VPP awarded per playerhttp://www.pokerstars.com/vip/2009earn/New System.50 rake in pot= 3VPPS split 9 ways equals .33 VPPS awarded per playerhttp://www.pokerstars.com/vip/earn/Am I missing something? Play 6 max?6 MaxNew System.50 raked pot= 2.75 VPPs split 6 ways = .458VPPs awarded per player.

People playing 1/2 FL are about the only ones worse off with the new system. It was a quirk of the old system that full ring 1/2 fixed limit players who were supernova were getting almost 100% rakeback. You should play whatever game you are comfortable with but 6-max is a much more interesting game than full ring and you should try and work on that no matter what the rewards structure is.

FR NL 25/50/100/200 are all less than last year. And A LOT of players are in that category. I like how Pokerstars make you believe the people at lower limits get extras with the stellar awards and all, however they just make you take longer to get to supernova/milestones etc.

You're correct. Those were also sweet spots where due to the design of their old system players got way more back than at other limits and now are being treated the same as everybody else. One thing that will hopefully come out the change is all those multi tabling rakeback grinders will have to move up in limits making those games better.

Being as i am at NL25-Nl50 trying to move up some i def hop that will be the case. However, having a look at the VIP and VPP/hand threads on 2+2 that doesnt seem to be the case all that much
