Tactical Bear 3
I didn't watch the original V when it came out, which is odd because it was right up my alley in stuff I would have liked as a kid. I did watch the first episode and it was just terrible. Terrible in the way all network drama's with any kind of promise are terrible. Poorly written, poorly acted, corny and dumb. It reminds me a great deal of Heros and Kings.. so much potential, and all of it lost. I don't know why network shows have to suck so badly, I really don't. I swear to god the only good network dramas ever were Twin Peaks and early X Files. I'm cutting my loses and bailing early from this.I was a big X-Files fan, but... really? When was the last time you watched an episode of the X-Files? The acting was wretched, maybe in part because some of the writing was so bad, and talk about corny. I LOVED X-Files, but I can't watch many of the episodes now. I stopped reading the thread at this post. I saw the pilot for V and really liked it. In contrast to Big D, I thought the writing and acting were both well, well above average. That's not saying much, obviously, since TV writing is almost always horrible, but I don't remember thinking any of the dialog was cringe-worthy.

Jadaki 0
That's not saying much, obviously, since TV writing is almost always horrible, but I don't remember thinking any of the dialog was cringe-worthy.I think the complaints are mostly about the son, his interactions with everyone are horrible.Morena Bacarrin was perfectly cast in this role, she pulls off so much with really small gestures, changes in tone, and stances that she gives off the perfect vibe. It's been a very long time since I watched X Files, and the acting was terrible. I remember being shocked that Duchoveny was being given other roles during and after that show. But once in a while, it had excellent 1 off shows, with random writers and directors. I remember them being excellent, at least. I hated all of the episodes in the dumb continuing plot line, and as the show went one, when it became a serial conspiracy suspense show, I stopped watching. I stand by Twin Peaks, however. My complaints with the acting on the show, I think the black guy, the priest, the son, the mother are terrible. It's hard to tell if the V's are terrible, because they act in such obviously "Spockish" ways, emotion-less. I think Anna is a good actress, but I'm not really sure. I think all of the plot lines with the Mom FBI agent, all of her dialog are bad and painful to watch. I pretty much only enjoy the hard core V mother ship stuff, and anything involving Anna's daughter. Anna's daughter might be enough to keep me in the game, 'cause I love the idea of an alien succubus. I hate pretty much everything on tv, though so I'm a bad person to ask. The only on going drama's right now that I'd ever recommend to anyone else are mad men and breaking bad. Maybe Tutors and Nurse Jackie if I was feeling frisky.
king_tanner 84
I thought the story line with the health centers on the ship was really bad. So people are just going to completely trust the V's and use their medicine without any doctors on earth testing it first? I don't think so.

I don't think so.i'm pretty sure there would be many humans lining up for cures to "incurable" diseases if they were offered. many already pay thousands of dollars for faith healing, psychic healing, etc, once they have run out of traditional options to prolong their lives. jeff_536 3
I found it implausible that there was a six-month wait list for treatment mere moments after it was announced that the V medical facilities were going to be open to humans.

Balloon guy 158
But is it a terrible show at being great?Or a great show at being terrible?or a complete waste of time.Let me give the writers in hollywoodland a little hint. All movies and or shows with women being the heavy is bound to be a failure. That chick from lost who is the FBI agent sucks in this role. I am not buying a woman who cries every time there is a .00002% chance that her son is hurt really moved up in the ranks of the FBI to command a task force.Plus you completely failed to convince the mercenary has any reason to stay with the 5th column...It's like one day he is skeptical, and the next he is Mr. We've Got To See This Through.Oh and where did they get the bodies for the transport? delved 0
Women are more emotional about their children getting hurt. Also, he has nowhere else to go because he's stuck with it. He's been pinned as part of the 5th column so he has no choice but to stay with them. Also they probably got the bodies from the people they killed on the ship. The part with the lady dreaming and being scared of the "Red arrows and thousands of needles" and then showing the part with Lisa walking inside, I'd assume they got them from there.
