I meant the left behind movie. Mostly it was a comparison of terrible acting, but also the Carpathia antichrist character is similar to the Vistors, and Anna, in that they are telling/convincing the world that they are good and righteous, and at the same time establishing a one world government of evil, while a spunky group of misfits fight against them, lead by Television news anchor, ( I assume the guy interviewing anna eventually joins the resistance).
KIRK CAMERON!!!!!yeah, I get the comparison now. I think I will give this show at least two more episodes before I make a decision.

I dont see it really. Can you elaborate? I actually read the whole Left Behind series......I think reading it is 95% responsible for my dismissiveness toward fundamentalist Christianity.
You read the whole thing???I got to book 3 and told my wife not to buy anymore ever or I would be really angry and cut her pay to $35 a morning. It pains me to think that that series of books would be the benchmark for anyone to judge Christianity on.Read a Ted Dekker book or Tony Dungy's book, not Left Behind

On this we can both agree. As bad as the left behind movie was, it was a much better movie than the book was a book. Maybe the worst novel I've ever read.

How was the 2nd episode tonight? I missed it because I went to see Director Brett Ratner speak @ my school.
I liked it, I hope the show doesn't get cancelled. I could do without the storyline with the chick cop's son though. So he wants to join the V's because of the hot chick, and that is the extent of the storyline. Just seems dumb and out of place. I like all the other storylines though.I'm playing the guessing game with who I think are aliens. So far I'm 100% convinced that the old guy priest is an alien.

Heres's a link to the old V (1983) It was rated really high by viewers when it aired.http://www.surfthechannel.com/show/3117.htmlThe 2nd V episode was solid. They seemed to have reversed the gender roles of the all major characters in the original V.

I understand the "only 4 episodes" commitment. That show is EXfokkinPENSIVE! You don't want to spend 200mm without testing it first. Solid enough for me so far, watched every episode of the original when it was on so I'm pre-biased. EFX are surprisingly good for TV. Hope the story pans out. I mean, why do the V's have to "infiltrate" humanity? Based on their tekkmology shown so far, they could just wipe out everyone human and say thanks... Do we have to like them to taste good? I sure hope so...But I really really want to have interspecies relations with Anna. :club:

Could be. And I was thinking possibly FBI chick's boss.

i'd guess that the old priest is a red herring, not an alien but may have something bad happen to him because of suspicions.
Yeah.. I mean, if the priest is an alien, this show is really bad, because they've been so heavy handed about it.. but if he's a red herring, it's still pretty bad

Same problem with Flash Forward. I dont want these shows to be like Lost (i.e. you learn squat for 3 seasons) but I dont need to know everything cool by the end of the pilot.
There's a reason Lost is so popular and a lot of it has to do with the way they present questions and answers. Networks dont want to waste money on a show if its going to get canned so we are forced to deal with these LOL premieres. They are doing everything they can to get us hooked on the first episode and by doing that they are messing up the way the a good TV show tells a story. They need to stop throwing a bunch of answers at us and just give us a few questions to keep us interested. If the writers are doing their job well, that should def be enough and they could actually get to a second season with something to write about.

I was just advocating somewhere in the middle. Finding out they are bad in the FIRST episode is lame potatoes.

I'd say the majority of the haters didn't watch the original. This is definitely an improvement on what was a lovable mini-series and they moved at a pretty quick pace. The problem is a lot of y'all think the suspense or interesting storyline is in finding out they are bad. The fun stuff is...oh wait...I think I've said too much already.

I liked the show last night. The whole idea of the 5th regiment or whatever it was called which is a group of the aliens starting a resistance agains their own was pretty cool. I still think the story line with the kid is stupid, but we did get to see the blonde chick in panties.

Being that I am in love with her, I will put up with his shitty story to see her more naked

Holy shit. I had written this series off, but I watched episode three out of sheer boredom, and it's starting to pay off. It's still terrible, but Anna and her succubus daughter are the two hottest things on TV right now. I am a sucker for treacherous temptresses.

I think the pacing sucks a lot. Did we really need to learn the aliens were evil and had been plotting this for ages all in the first episode? That should have been the big reveal like 3-4 episodes in. And the FBI lady finds out her partner is a bad guy in episode one?Same problem with Flash Forward. I dont want these shows to be like Lost (i.e. you learn squat for 3 seasons) but I dont need to know everything cool by the end of the pilot. And, yeah, the acting is pretty bad but I can get past that.
I just got done watching the first two episodes after leaving them on my DVR for a while. I don't really know that you can blame them for the way the show is being handled with the pacing. Look at how Fox has completely mishandled several of their shows in a similar genre. They completely fucked up Firefly when it premiered by showing episodes out of order to "get people hooked" instead of showing a really strong origin story to launch the series. Then with Whedon's Dollhouse they make the first 6 episodes all work as intro's, instead of building a story right away and in the end people lost interest and it got canceled. So they do a test run for 4 episodes, they are going to push a lot of stuff at viewers quickly to get them hooked and see if they have an audience.I don't get the acting complaints, the cast is pretty strong and so far they haven't had great material to work with. The lead who was on Lost was a nice surprise actually, she was my favorite character on that show before I quit watching it. It was cool to see alumni from BSG and Firefly on the show. I get a kick out of Morris Chestnut being a lizard for some reason. Also I'm laughing at the drooling over Anna (Morena Baccarin) that seems to be happening like she is new to TV. She was better looking on Firefly. And that young V blond girl is pretty hot.I haven't seen the third episode yet, but so far it's been enjoyable.

I'm with you all the way Jadaki. Until the "stopped watching Lost" bit...don't really get that.

It's true. She's the rare woman that's hotter with a few extra pounds on her. I say "extra", but in Firefly she was still tight as hell. She was pretty much perfect on that show.
Painfully hot.

Laura Vandervoot:laura_vandervoort_big.jpg88598_Laura_Vandervoort03_122_164lo.jpgShe's more innocent and cute looking in "V". I'm at work so I'm not going to root around for the pics from Tuesday's episode, but if all evil aliens with designs on Earth domination looked like her I'd be first in line for a slave collar and a pickaxe.
