It would be silly to make an argument for or against online legalization based on a final table.
I fully agree. Although this final table has just been a huge publicity showing of multiple bad beats.I heard some rumor of the government actually taxing online poker.

Definatly not a rumor. Everything legal in life is taxed so if online pokers gets legal they will tax it.

Would you agree that, ironically, as the skill level of the average poker player increases, luck actually becomes a greater factor?
Duh?

So Moon is actually a great player?
Obv... he's hu in the "GREATEST TOURNAMENT IN THE WORRRRRLDDDDD"I had to quit listening just before dinner break. The announcers were hardly even calling what was going on. All the plugs really started to get on my nerves... "Well with MavenVT training this is what we do BLAH BLAH BLAH."DN must be sweating lol. I think it would be funny if Moon wins and we never hear from him again.

any chance this FT could have a negative affect towards the online legalization? or is the money gonna be too great that they dont even care if they term it a game of luck?
No. 1. Live poker is already legal. This is a televised legal event, which really has nothing to do with online poker. 2. Any law which depends on some portion of the public's emotional reaction to this specific final table would be ludicrous. 3. Any actual argument that poker was a game of chance based on the results of this or any specific final table would be fallacious. 4. Whether or not poker is a game of skill is not in question, and really should have nothing to do with whether or not it is legal to play.

ok wanted to get some opinions on this.. so i bet $200 on joe cada to win at 12:1 (yeah i run good) but now i wanna hedge my bet to lock up some profit. only problem is my sportsbook has moon listed at +200 to win, i feel like cada is a much bigger than 2:1 favorite to win at this point so am i just throwing away money by putting something down on the moon man now?

There is no way to say this without it seeming like a plug, but at matchbook.com you could wager up to $200 currently on Moon +250. There lines are usually better because it is a betting exchange. You would have to pay 1% to the house, whether you win or lose, so you would have to risk $101 to win $250. Everywhere else I have seen is 2-1.As to whether you should, assuming you didn't bet on anyone else, you should definitely set yourself up for an $1100 freeroll. Too much unexpected stuff can happen (and has already happened at this final table). If the stacks were completely even, no one would be a 2-1 dog. One double up for Moon and the stacks will be pretty close (I think). Plus, as Moon has shown, he might have a pretty good strategy for an amateur and just ship it in constantly until Cada takes a stand. You can also think of it in terms of happiness: You will be happy if you bought yourself $100 of Moon if Moon wins, you will be ecstatic if you cashed $1100 if Cada wins, you will probably be really sad if you got so close to end up down $200. All that assumes that you don't secretly have 5 losing bets on the other final tablists.

if cada can play some small pot poker vs him i'd say hes an astronomical favorite due to the skill difference.if they play big pots early and often, moon has more of a chance. maybe hedge just to win back your cada entry fee if you cant bet that much on moon after seeing him play so poorly.

Duh?
My apologies, I had never read this idea iterated on the forum before so I didn't realize it was common knowledge. Sorry for being so stupid amongst such a brilliant group of Internet contributors.

Just curious, why such a late start?
