really sucks that they don't have a live feed this year... I'm surprised ESPN didn't have a pay per view for this either, the 2006 Pay per view must have not made money.

I think the reason why there is no PPV is because they want a huge number to tune in on Tuesday.High number = Ad dollarsHaving Ivey at the final table is their 'perfect storm'

I'll probably not be on here from saturday to wednesday and will make the attempt (in vain im sure) to not hear anything about this and then just watch the broadcast without knowing.I should prop bet at what time this is ruined for me. I'll prolly just have to not use the internet, not counting fantasy football, to make this work.

I'm guessing this means you can't watch ESPN at all because they will be telling who won on SportsCenter like they did last year.

LOL OMG.I didn't even try to fade it last year.....but I remember sitting at home with my wife as they discussed it on SC and had it on the ticker at the bottom. I was like "c'mon, you know people are actually using your whole november 9 scam to actually watch the FT in real-ish time......I know you are the "leader in sports", but do you really have to break this news across your screens when you are showing the coverage in the next 24-48 hours?"That's why I don't want to do this because i know it's gonna get ruined for me, being that I play poker and watch sports daily. Meh, we'll see.

I don't know if it's because of Ivey or what, but I feel like the delayed final table this year actually worked as intended for the first time. I am excited.
I don't think I've watched one episode of this years coverage.

fwiw i really enjoyed the 07 ppv telecast. seeing Jerry Yang run around yelling and everything in real time was so awesome! it was kind of like watching a donkament ft live on PS or something but you actually got to see the players as well and of course still able to see the cards when they had a showdown. i wish they still had it for the hardcore fans.

What does being a fan of hardcore have to do with it?

So in DN's latest video blog he points out having seen Darvin Moon playing "recent" and that he showed that he's capable of laying, playing/showing bluffs, etc.My thought is that if he got any sort of help or coaching, or even thought about it for a second, assuming he really doesn't have that gear to his game, the smartest thing you could do is go play some games leading up to the main event and be seen taking some strong bluff lines, etc, to create a facade of having another club in the bag, so to speak. Even if you end up dropping some coin, it would be considered a ME investment so your opponents have to at least think about diversifying their thoughts on you.I dunno, just a random thought that popped up when i was hearing him talk.

Expect spoilers if you are going to play Poker before the airing on Tuesday. I hate when someone is at a party or something and can't watch a big game live and then expects everyone else to not discuss it because they are hoping to watch their DVR without the suspense ruined. Don't expect a table full of Poker players to NOT discuss this event. Don't even try and suggest that they not discuss it.I am going to give it a try to make it to Tuesday's coverage without any knowledge of outcome, but think I am destined to run into some sort of spoiler. Cada is a local guy, so I can't even watch/listen to local tv/radio/web sites. In fact I am probably screwed from watching Football since there is always a local news teaser during the events.Even if I am successful in shutting down my media spoilers, I can easily imagine some "friendly" comment at work from a co-worker who knows my passion for Poker: "Hey, didja hear about Cada...?"I know that someone is going to open a thread here with "WSOP Main Event" in the title and then bitch about spoilers. Anyone who thinks they can come here an expect no spoilers is just plain silly. If you come here you simply deserve to have your suspense ruined. It is completely unreasonable to expect people on a Poker Site to NOT discuss the events regarding the biggest Poker event of the year as they happen.

http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/ws.../november-nine/Fast forward three months and twenty-three days, and you'll find the Rio once again buzzing with anticipation. Just those nine players are left alive from a field that began with 6,494, and there's life-changing money on the line. Hundreds of interviews and a few lucrative sponsorship deals later, the finalists are back in Las Vegas and ready for the final battle. Here's how they'll stack up when the cards go into the air after this extended hiatus:Seat 1: Darvin Moon (58,930,000)Seat 2: James Akenhead (6,800,000)Seat 3: Phil Ivey: (9,765,000)Seat 4: Kevin Schaffel (12,390,000)Seat 5: Steven Begleiter: (29,885,000)Seat 6: Eric Buchman (34,800,000)Seat 7: Joseph Cada (13,215,000)Seat 8: Antoine Saout (9,500,000)Seat 9: Jeff Shulman (19,580,000)The counts don't lie; Darvin Moon is lapping the field with more than 30% of the total chips in play. Alongside him we've got a Wall Street investor (Begleiter) and an engineering student from France (Saout), a printing entrepreneur (Schaffel) and a baby-faced online grinder (Cada). Pros? We've got those too. Buchman has been a consistent performer in the live tournament poker scene with more than 20 cashes in his blossoming career. Akenhead is a standout on the European circuit and a consistent WSOP performer. As the only man with Main Event final table experience, Shulman has been making waves with his criticism of the WSOP despite his impressive stat line in its events. And then there's Phil Ivey. What really needs to be said? More than $12 million in career winnings and seven gold bracelets (including three this year). Looking to become the youngest player to collect eight WSOP titles, Ivey occupies the top spot on most people's handicapping sheets and is the odds-on betting favorite at your weekly home game. It's shaping up to be one of the most exciting Main Event final tables in history. The World Series of Poker is just about ready to turn off the lights on its 40th birthday party, but we've still got to cut the cake. The 2009 edition of the November Nine is set to take to the felt tomorrow (Saturday) at high noon.
