Playing A Flopped Low Straight Three-handed

Recommended Posts

Live casino play (first time ever for me too), 0.50/1 NL ... I've been sitting at my table for 2 hours, I'm up about $40 from my $200 buy-in, and I'm seen as a rock by most of the other 8 players at the table. Playing fundamentally sound, trying to see cheap flops with small-medium pocket pairs and suited connectors. I get 5s 4s on the Button and decide I'm going to play if it costs $10 or less -- normally I don't do that, but I just had a good feeling about playing this hand, with position...UTG+1 makes it $10, I call and the BB calls as well (he's not really a factor in this hand, as he's down to his last $25).Flop comes 3c 2c 6sBB checks, original raiser bets $21... I think for a while, trying to decide if I should play my small straight aggressively or not. I opt for a ~3x raise to $61, hoping to get called by an overpair. Meanwhile, BB folds his hand. After taking forever, he decides to ship it for a total of $250, the guy has me covered.Turns out he had Ac Jc, and he hits the 5c on the turn. See ya!My question is: should I re-consider my raising amounts in those types of situation? It is enough? Did I make a mistake trying to get all the money in on the flop? I guess is there's just nothing I can do versus a guy willing to gamble on a 25% chance of hitting... then again, maybe he thought Aces and Jacks were additional outs, but I was playing so tight, I can hardly believe that.

the reason you got the above answer is because we pretty much hear this kind of post from anyone with the word "newbie" in their avatar title. This is a strategy forum. You can't get proper strategy if you give us the results of the hand. You didn't know he had a flush draw when you were playing the hand so why should we? If your question is "should I have raised more cause I knew he was gonna hit the club on the turn" then you should just quit poker now. As far as the hand is played. You got all your money in holding the stone cold nuts. Nothing more you can do to play the hand any better. He hit the turn...sucks...but as you said....usually hit doesn't hit. (he was more than 25% to hit btw.)This is more or less a bad beat story.....there are some posts on here explaining the rules to the forum...read them...abide by them and you will get better advice and better results.

Ask yourself this question. Is it a mistake to put all your money in the pot with the STONE COLD NUTS?You wouldn't have asked this had you not lost the hand. BBFIDTS./thread.

No. It's rude and impolite to post a hand where you flop the nuts, get your opponents stack all in, and then ask if you didn't take the best line. What I did was not rude since this post belongs in the bad beat forum. However, THIS is rude. You're a douchebag.
