CaneBrain 95
I think Tebow should stay in Denver. Best backup QB in the league, right? Not really.
mrdannyg 274
Not really.Who's better? That is a real question, not a challenge. I don't really follow football. The only thing I've read as to why they shouldn't keep Tebow is that they don't want him to be a distraction and/or they don't want an atmosphere of competition. Which sounds to me like nothing, since there is obviously no competition even if he sticks around. I guess if another team views Tebow as a starter, which would almost come from from their marketing department, then they should get value for him. Just seems like he'd make a solid backup, and maybe learn how to throw in the next few years to take over when Manning decides to hang it up. Or, you know, if Manning never plays again. CaneBrain 95
Orton for the Chiefs for sure. Garrard now with the Dolphins. Kitna for the Cowboys too although I think he might finally be retiring. I could probably think of a few others if I pored over the rosters.Tebow would make an interesting short yardage/goal line weapon for a good team----or he could do what he did last year for a team with a good defense and a good running game. He is nothing special though and Denver has to trade him just to avoid any inevitable friction.
DJ Vu 176
You can't have Tebow as your back-up, especially to Manning. Tebow is only (relatively) effective in the right system and that system would be nothing like what Manning runs. If you have Tebow, your game plan is run run run run run THROWDEEP! run run run. Manning's game plan is obviously pass pass pass pass pass pass shortrun pass pass pass.Once the Dolphins whiffed on RGIII and Manning, they should just stick with Matt Moore. I mean, he wasn't bad last year.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
Pretty sure they will do the Matt Moore thing. Can't see paying for Alex Smith nhis improvement was a system thing, mostly. Can you explain to me the Marshall trade? Are we picking Blackmon with the 8th pick? I just can't figure it out? And it seems they gave him away. If the Fins pick an effing lineman with the 1st round pick, I'll shit. Won't that make 4 out of the last 5 years?  * Selected number one overall † Enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of FameYear[A] Pick Player Position College Notes1966 1 Jim Grabowski * Running back Illinois 1966 2 Rick Norton Quarterback Kentucky 1967 4 Bob Griese †Quarterback Purdue 1968 8 Larry Csonka †Fullback Syracuse 1968 27 Doug Crusan Offensive tackle Indiana [a]1969 11 Bill Stanfill Defensive end Georgia 1970 — No pick — — 1971 — No pick — — [c]1972 25 Mike Kadish Defensive tackle Notre Dame 1973 — No pick — — [d]1974 26 Don Reese Defensive end Jackson State 1975 23 Darryl Carlton Offensive tackle Tampa 1976 17 Larry Gordon Linebacker Arizona State [e]1976 18 Kim Bokamper Linebacker San Jose State 1977 13 A. brvheart 1,756
Long and pouncey are like two of the best players on your team. I can't imagine being upset at either of those O-line picks.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
Settle down on Pouncey. It's still early. Long was a number 1 overall pick. A successful pick? Sure. He was effin number 1 overall, he better have worked out. Point is, those are some awful drafts, and most successful teams get their lines in the 3rd round and beyond. I don't mind the franchise tackle pick in the first round. But come on, what else is great since like 1997?
CaneBrain 95
Long and pouncey are like two of the best players on your team. I can't imagine being upset at either of those O-line picks.I hate both picks. You want to know why the Dolphins have an almost complete lack of playmakers despite being very little under the cap? Because they dumped over a hundred milly and numerous high draft picks into the o-line and the interior of the d-line.In 2012, I can't think of a formula that makes less overall sense. Long and Pouncey are good players of course but you need to find guys who create turnovers on defense and guys who put ****ing points on the ****ing board in the first round. Get your lineman later. The dolphins should trade up for Blackmon because the best WR on their roster currently is Brian Hartline which is a sad joke on dolphins fans and Matt Moore. They need a weapon. However, Ireland is a moron and will probably take Riley Reiff (solid player but a complete waste of an impact pick) or reach for Tannehill who is a second round prospect. SuperJon 175
The Marshall trade should easily go down as the worst trade of the year.As for Blackmon, I'm pretty sure the Rams will be getting him with the 6th pick.

Time for Ireland to strap on a pair and get his team a young weapon to build an offense around.
DJ Vu 176
Vote for the Madden cover. It's done bracket style. Tebow is a #14 seed, which is pretty hilarious. How does he not win this?Cam Newton and Aaron Rodgers are the two #1's.Edit: I didn't realize SeaBass was in this thing. I hope he wins.
DJ Vu 176
Oh gross, Tebow to the Jets. Literally my least favorite team. What a punch to the gut. Also: Sean Payton suspended for the year!
SuitedAces21 2,723
an entire year for that? jesus, way to shoot the barn after the horses all ran out. or something.
DJ Vu 176
I don't really know the whole story, but if they really did have bounties for injuring players, you have to make it a huge penalty. If it's money for good plays and legal big hits, then it's a different story.
timwakefield 68
Seriously, the Jets? Goddamit. I don't really know the whole story, but if they really did have bounties for injuring players, you have to make it a huge penalty. If it's money for good plays and legal big hits, then it's a different story. The league found that the cash pool reached $50,000 or more during the 2009 playoffs, and players were paid $1,500 for a "knockout" and $1,000 for a "cart-off" with payouts doubling or tripling during the playoffs. Money was provided primarily by players.http://content.usatoday.com/communities/th.../1#.T2oOMcUgf9o
SuitedAces21 2,723
as though other guys in the league arent trying to hurt people even wihtout the money incentive. maybe there's something wrong with me, but i really dont care at all that they did this.
timwakefield 68
It's pretty awful that it was implemented by a coach (Gregg Williams) and that Payton knew about it and didn't try to stop it. If it was just a thing between players then I agree it would be much much less fucked up, but having a coach actually begin a program like that is just ridiculous.
DJ Vu 176
as though other guys in the league arent trying to hurt people even wihtout the money incentive.I think guys try to hurt people in the sense that they try to hit them as hard as possible. That's different than going for the QB's knees or something. I don't know, my feeling is that as long as the rewards are for legal plays, I think the punishment shouldn't be that severe. If they reward illegal plays, that's a huge problem. But I'm not part of the camp that is all about football being a MAN's sport and let them kill each other it's their choice stuff. DJ Vu 176
Best Tebow line so far:@barryap1Right now, the Jets QB tandem will rape you, then not let you abort the pregnancy.
brvheart 1,756
I'm sad for Tebow. I'm pretty surprised they didn't keep him as a backup in Denver. I mean, Peyton could have obviously helped him.

SuitedAces21 2,723
my biggest problem with this is how unfair it is to punish sean payton in this way. this has been going on for years on teams all over the league. and roger goodell's unlimited power needs to be curbed.
