Fish at .25/.50 NL cash home game after busting out his $10 buy-in for the third time: "Sorry, I have to move to the other side of the table. Those guys are catching cards. I feel it over there."He loses his last $10. I recommend that he buys in for more than $10. He then borrows $15 from his friend and promptly busts by pushing all in pre-flop versus the tightest player at the table who raised on the button. Fish had 10-9 sooted versus pocket aces.Tight Player: “I guess the luck ran out on that side of the table huh?” I elbowed the tight player in the ribs and whispered, “Play nice, and don’t tap the tank.”Fishy McFisherson leaves to go to the ATM. He returns with his biggest buy-in to date: $20. He also moves again to a "luckier seat". He hits a runner-runner four high flush versus my pocket 10s.Fish: “See, I had to move. That was a great play.”I congratulate him on his play as does the Tight Player. Me: “Yeah. That was great how you trapped me. I didn’t see it coming.” (He didn’t).Tight Player: “You were like 80% favorite to win Fish.” (He wasn’t).Fish: “I try to play the Sklansky Group as much as possible.” (It was 3-4 off-suit).I tried not to bust out laughing. I finished my glass of Grey Goose and went to the kitchen for a re-fill.

Playing $100 max at windsorVillain: They should really change the blinds for this from 1-2.Me: Well, really they should make it 1/2 $200 max.Villain: No, they should make the blinds 2/5 for $100 max.He busted out soon after. He had googly eyes too. I was frightened at his stupidity.

:icon_doh:He's got a pointYou need to know when to apply your luck.huh?
Ha ha, exactly.Like I said at the time, I just didn't manage my luck properly. Right on the bubble is not the right time to use up some of my bad luck.

I like to use it early in a tourney. Get it out of the way when the blinds are low. That way I can use the rest of the good luck on the rest of the tourney. You have to be careful though. You might get knocked out early with the bad luck.

Personally I hate it when I'm dealt aces early in a tournement. It means I have to wait 221 hands before I'll get them again, and I might be out by then.

lolyeah, but at least you know when they're coming.
i love you guys. any time i'm at the casino and my buddies want to go, this is pretty much my argument. usually they're like "i'm stuck, let's go." then i simply ask them how long its been since they've had aces, and convince them they must be coming soon, so they should stay.it works a depressing amount.

not the best but something needs to bump thisI have like 1000 in chips at a home game tounrey 4 handed. blinds are 75/150 and im UTG with ATo and push. Button looks at his card and says "you overbet the pot so much you just made it obvious you have AK" and he fold AQ face up....
Pushing with ATo UTG is donkyish.
