this forum is the funniest thing ever. I was playing 2-4 at casino in Halifax with a friend and it was him and another guy capping all the way to the river, then there was a calling station there with them and he called the bet on the river my buddy turned over nut flush that he hit on flop other guy hit K high flush on flop the calling station had a pocket 4s everything was overcards on the board. everyone was debating what the hell he was doing so i asked him and his response for calling all the way was "I had potential quads." after i told him quads is 4 cards and with one card to come out on the river that he needed one hell of a miracle to get quads, he then realized how stupid what he said was, so then tried to tell me how he had to call because of the pot odds. I was wishing it was on TV or taped for people to see because he thought he was making sense.

I’m playing a home game $10 buy-in winner takes all, basically a 10 player Sit and Go. I’m getting low on chips, not desperate yet, but if the blinds go up I could be hurting. I’m the button and I pick up As,Qs. I’ve got a semi-tight passive player in the SB and a total fish (but extremely lucky) in the BB. It’s folded around the table to me. I 'd be happy with just the blinds, so I go all-in. SB calls and BB calls. Flop comes K, 8, J rainbow. SB checks, BB checks. I’m thinking, “I could still be good here.” Turn comes Ace. SB checks, BB bets, SB raises, BB calls. Now I’m thinking, “Not good!” The river comes 7. SB checks, BB checks. Time to turn the cards. SB flips over A,6. BB flips over pocket 7,s for trips. I flip over my A,Q.I lose it. I ask “How could you call on the turn?” She responds “I didn’t call on the turn, I bet!”“Yes and you were check raised!” “Did you think that your 7’s were good at that point?” “There were 4 overcards showing.”She answers “No, but there was one more card coming.”“What were the odds of it hitting?”“Apparently pretty good!” she croaks.“4%!!, 4%!!. Is 4% good odds?” (I know the odds are closer to 5% in this exact case but I wasn’t going to let her know that)She says “In this case it was.” as she smirks and stacks my chips. The sad thing is, the She in this story is my Mother-in-Law.
That's my favorite part

Home gameAA goes all in for a hundred bucksAJ off suit calls (donkey 1)67 of diamonds calls (bigger donkey)when the cards were flipped over, I couldn't believe seeing 67 of diamonds. He ended up winning by turning a straight. I said "You must of known you were a dog in that hand. Best case for you is that you are up against two overcards" He then saids "I had a feeling". The killer is that this guy always plays very slow and thinks forever about a decision but called this all in really fast.

Local B/M Commerce N/LBlinds:$2-$5Buy-in:$200Been sitting with fish for 5 hours as he watches me turn over only winners as I built my stack up to $1300. (No bluffs were caught.)Fish has a little over $900Dealt AJs UTGI make it $10.Drunk guy who just sat down makes it $20.Fish calls.I call.Flop:AJ9 (2 diamonds)I bet $20 (knowing drunk guy will raise.)Drunk guy makes it $60.Fish calls.I raise all in.Drunk guy folds.Fish calls.Shows AQ offsuit.Best part is when he gives me his $900 he tells the table, "I had to call."
I agree this is a bad call but i don't think it really qualifies for this thread give some of the other quotes.

Wow, this is my second fish quote in two days. In a MTT on Paradise I get AcJh in middle position and raise. The fish calls with position and the flop is Qd 5d 3d. I bet and he calls. I had seen him chase before so my read was the flush draw. The turn was a blank and I went all-in. He called rather quickly turning up Kc9d!!!! Nothing except a 9 high flush with one card to come. Of course he hits the 2d on the river and says "I knew he didn't have it, your bet on the flop gave me all the information I needed." Everyone told him how stupid he was and I was sure to tell him that all of his information got his chips in the pot when he was behind. I was pissed. I might've read a quote like this earlier in this thread so this must be a common fish line.

At a home game last week: "Are we playing with wraparound straights?"
gold
A little addition: I waz at a home-game at this guy's house tonight...house rules allow wraparound straights. Thankfully nobody hit one all night...but at one point a guy was calling down with K2 and a board of QJxxx. I asked him what he was doing in the hand, and he reminded me of his inside wraparound straight draw. "I was looking for an ace for the wraparound." Hehehehe. I came in first.

I'm playing low limit at Excalibur and hit my non nut flush on the river. I was leading out on the flop and turn on the draw but I get raised by this lady on the river. So I said "I guess your flush is better than mine." She replies "You have a flush?" She was geniunely surprised. I should have reraised her right there but felt really bad for her plus the other people playing there would have thought I was an ******* for doing that to a lady that couldn't play.

Dude, I think you are being a little harsh there. Honestly, this game was small stakes, 1-3 nonstructured limit. I would have maybe sucked out another 3 bucks off her max. It's not like I'm a pro or anything, I was just playing this game for fun to keep my wife company while showing and teaching her how to play poker. The lady that I beat was not my wife, just to clear things up. If the game was 10 20 or higher, I would not softplay it. For 3 bucks, i think I can afford to show some compassion. People on this forum are unnecessarily harsh when hiding behind their computers. I guarantee you that most of you would be more polite or tactful in person.

Just happend today.Home game 10 buy in. I pick up Aces UTG and make it 3xBB. Get called by button. The flop comes 6 4 2 with two diamonds. I bet, he raises. I think for a minute and go all in trying to shut out any draw possibilities. He replies to me, i have two draws and i took it as a straight/flush draw (as did everyone else). After debating for a minute, he calls....with Q,4 of spades. At that time, there were no spades on the board. Needless to say, the whole table got a good laugh about it.
