Such a sick value for your money!this one is the one i was referencing, it's the only tournament in iowaEDIT: The cards are printed on corn husks and the chips are dried up corn kernels. And the waitresses are cattle. J/S.2nd EDIT: You really have to watch your chips because said waitresses will try to eat them, so it gives a whole new meaning to defending your blinds.3rd EDIT: The legs of the tables and chairs are made from corn stalks and the table top is weaved out of husks. They're real "eco-friendly" up there.

Lil_Hellmuth 0
Go to Prairie Meadows in Altoona which is an eastern suburb. They have tournament son Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays last that I knew of. Talk to Jadaki on here, he should know a lot more as it has been a while since I have been in there. I play online or I could go to a casino. Wanted more options. Probably won't find them.

Jadaki 0
I don't know about home tournaments. Prairie Meadows runs the following tournament schedule...Sundays (Noon): $60.00 buy in, usually fills up with around 100 peopleMonday (7pm): $60.00 buy in Heartland Poker Tour eventTuesday (10am): $30.00 buy in, start really short in chips, its effectively a turbo SNG.Wednesday (7pm): Ladies tournament, never played so can't give you details ;)Thursday (7pm): $115.00 buy in, best tournament they have field ranges from 50-120 people depending on the time of year.I know of a few high stakes home cash games that run on a regular basis, but they are invite only and if you don't know the host your not getting in them. Wtf, why? Also OP, pretty much every casino I've been to in Iowa has some sort of poker table in it. If you're in the Des Moines area, there really is no reason to not play at Prairie Meadows. Like Jadaki said, they have a bunch of tournaments, and at the very least, there's a $1/2NL game going and usually a $3/6 limit game as well. The $2/5NL game usually runs on the weekend (I dunno about during the week, never go then)or a $10/20 HOE game or something will sometimes run.

Monday there is a 10/20 HOE game, Wednesday there is a 10/20 O8 game, Thursday is either a 15/30 or 20/40 08 game with a kill. Occasionally other games go like a 1/2 PL HO game but not very often.
