Affleck has a better chance than Chau Gang? These lists are pointless. You need to survive countless suckouts and in return suckout many times to make it even close to the final table. It's anyone game until they get down to the last couple of hundred, THEN maybe people can start putting odds.

I find the notion of Raymer having better odds of making the final table then Dan Harrington laughable! Robert Varkoni has the same odds as Dan Harrington also.

As I mentioned elsewhere, odds aren't really meant to be a predictor of actual true odds of winning. They're only the house's structure to ensure they spread thier action evenly. More popular bets will get shorter odds than they deserve because otherwise, they'll be getting an unreasonable amount of action, which creates an unacceptable level of exposure to the bookmaker. Furthermore, the odds fluctuate with the action. It's the same concept as a sportsbook -- the only reason it tends to stay relatively static is that if thier guess is too unreasonable, they'll get hammered before the line has a chance to adjust -- it's important to be right early to prevent a squeeze situation from arising.

Just put $20 on Harrington at 66/1. I think that's about the only really good bet in the field. That's going to be a sweet-ass payday if he goes back-to-back-to-back for me.

You guys have to remember that this isn't what the sportsbook thinks. They are in it to make money, so they will make the odds so that a certain amount of people make a bet. Don't blame the sportsbook for the stupid odds, blame the humans who will bet on these players.

Dan Harrington is the same odds as Dutch Boyd....who handicapped this?Dan made 3 final tables and is 66/1...but DN is 25/1 and has not been to one yet (I like DN chances in any tourny).Besides are they not projecting 5k players?I will take 1/2 the list....the bottom half plus DN and a few others.

Actually... you only need to put suck-outs on people if you're moneymaker... if you watch Raymer's commentary last year he makes the comment at some point when he has a smaller pocket pair than someone else, that's the only time he put a bad beat on someone... but hey... whatever
