The Nazi's were socialists they used national healthcare to get rid of Jews and basically do what they wanted. They took over car companies and tried to make sure that everyone gets cars also. They were all about being green also. Sound like anyone we know about today? Hitler was thought to be more facist and there were some fascist elements in the Nazis but they were National Socialists. That's how they got their name. But there's a difference between our freedom in America and the way the Germans were in the 1920s. The Germans were not a big deal to have some kind of dictator or leader. Americans don't like socialism. Never have and they won't accept it in the end.

Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin were three of the most murderous individuals in history. Peasants of the Russian, Ukrainian and other lands were mercilessly wiped out. But I dont think the GOP is capitalizing enough on it because they are insane (or too busy cheating on their wives). I mean yes they have rallied support against the Healthcare bill.....but it is an awful bill. Not a huge challenge. They have succeeded in making Obama and the Dems more unpopular but they have managed to not improve their own popularity in doing so. At this point, I feel confident the GOP will keep shooting from the hip and hitting their own feet just as often as they hit the Democrats.

I've been thinking about this a bit, and I am going to, for shits and giggles, expand upon my point, and go into detail about why you are a dipshit, which seemed to tilt you so much.You brought up the point that Hitler and Nazism are going to lose their emotional meaning, and eventually become adjectives to describe politicians behavior, like Machiavelli Trotsky, Chamberlain, and Napoleon have become.I countered that by saying that it will never become, in my life time, an OK and everyday insult to use, at least in public discourse, in my life time, because hitler was trying to commit genocide against the jews. Like, there are still people alive to day who are holocaust survivors. It's never going to be okay to them for you to call someone a nazi, or compare someone to hilter, no matter how far removed we are from those events. That survivor generation is quickly dying out, but in 20 years, it's still not going to be okay for their children and grand children. Because Hitler is pretty much the symbol of 1000's of years of antisemitism, who killed millions of jews, and if he'd have won the war, would have killed all of them. That's something that many jews aren't just got to ever let go of, or use as a casual insult or adjective. As long as there are people alive that knew people that were killed or escaped the holocaust, I don't think comparing someone to Hitler is ever just going to be common and accepted talk. No, but when I was in a head shop in Vancouver, Wa, I got a box ( box seems too big of word.. a thingy?) of Che Rolling papers, out of pure irony, 'cause nothing says "Revolucion" quite like a fat splif. I think Che is an interesting historical figure, but certainly not a hero, and I think the "fashionizing" of him is one of the funniest things ever, and just shows how dead communism really is. I knew communism was dead, when in the 90's taco bell ran a Gorditas" commercial, with the taco bell dog, that was filled with Russian and cuban revolutionary imagery.
