The Mischief of Kenny TranIn between two hands, Kenny Tran stood up from his table and meandered around the room a tad. He stopped at Table 8 where Antonio Esfandiari was sitting with only his socks on, his sandals tucked safely under his chair. So he thought, anyways. While Esfandiari was distracted by a hand in progress, Tran made the Magician's sandals disappear. He walked across to the corner of the room to find a floor person doing some work and told him that the sandals belonged to the player who had just gotten knocked out. The floor person reluctantly grabbed the sandals and shot off across the room. About a minute later, Tournament Director Jimmy Sommerfield's voice came booming over the PA system: "The player who just busted at Table 18. You left your sandals behind. Table 18 bustout, come get your sandals."It looks like Esfandiari still isn't clued in to the fact that his footwear has gone AWOL. There is a break approaching though.lol

Apparently, they went from 405 players to 303 players after just one level today. That is some widespread aggression.also, Ivey is on life support and Eastgate doubled up close to a million. some guy named lutz is the first over 3 mill.

lol giftsNew Chip Leader. Akenhead Breaches 3 Million Mark. James Akenhead has doubled up to become the first player over 3 million chips. Eracles Panayiotou raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Akenhead made it 80,000 from the small blind, Panayiotou called. The flop was qd.gif7s.gif3s.gif and Akenhead bet 130,000, Panayiotou called and they saw a 8c.gif turn. Akenhead bet 190,000 and Panayiotou raised to 430,000. Akenhead called this time before checking the kc.gif river. Panayioutou set the Brit all in for his remaining 800,000 or so and Akenhead immediately called with the nuts, kd.gifkc.gif for top set. Panayiotou's bluff with 6c.gif4s.gif was caught completely cold.

lol TT I wish they posted the betting on this hand.Flipping for Four Million</h3> The flop was 9c.gif6c.gif3d.gif between Tom Lutz and Warren Zackey. After some ferocious betting and raising, the two players got all of the money in the middle. Lutz was the player at risk and all in for a whopping 1.85 million. To put that number into better perspective, it's over 150 big blinds. Lutz held ac.gifqc.gif for the nut flush draw and two overs to Zackey's 10d.gif10c.gif. The turn brought the 8d.gif, leaving Lutz still hoping. The river brought the 5s.gif, completely missing Lutz. Zackey's tens were able to hold and he moved up to a chip leading 3.95 million. Lutz was eliminated on the hand.

So is it really him?

Joey Lawrence raised to 30,000 under the gun and Joel Patchell called behind. Over to Jamin Stokes, who made it 100,000 to go. Lawrence said, "Whoa," and passed, but Patchell called and they saw a flop.Flop: ks.gifjh.gif9c.gif Patchell open-shoved for 310,000, and Stokes called.Patchell: kd.gifqc.gif Stokes: ac.gifjc.gif Turn: 5s.gif River: 10c.gif Patchell doubles to 890,000; Stokes is down to 350,000.

Um, wow, play on the macro level is comically bad. People dropping like flies all day when the average stack has an M of 20+? And then this hand ... from someone that made the money ...

All In and MuckedJ.C. Tran opened the pot with a raise from middle position, and the action passed to Estelle Denis. She moved all in, and the table folded back around to Tran. Somwhere in the folding frenzy though, Denis' cards were pulled into the muck, leaving her all in with no cards."Floor!"This was a matter for Tournament Director Steve Frezer, and he was at the table in no time. He listened carefully to the dealer and to Denis before making his decision. The rule is that the player is 100% responsibly for protecting their own cards, and Denis failed to do that. A long but civil argument ensued with Denis gesturing wildly, shaking her head, and glancing back and forth at her foe, the dealer.By rights, Frezer probably could have taken her whole stack, but he showed a little mercy and only took enough chips out of her stack to cover the initial call. The remaining 110,000 of her chips were returned to a very upset Denis.
I hope a pro absolutely cleans up on this field. Go Ivey, ElkY, Hachem ... let a pro take this down one time please.

Day 5 Done and DustedThe carnage came thick and fast today, as we hit our target in record time for the second day running. 407 runners became 185 in three short levels, as the Amazon went crazy in a bid to chip up or ship out before Day 6.Among those who couldn't stand the pace were David Levi, Sorel Mizzi, Thor Hansen, Kara Scott, Dan Harrington and Bobby Baldwin. Among those who remain in the running, though, are such luminaries as Phil Ivey, Ludovic Lacay, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Tom Schneider, James Akenhead and Joe Hachem. Our overnight chip leader is one Mr. Warren Zackey -- his stack has swelled to 5 million in the three levels we managed to get through today. Plenty of folks are on his tail, though, so this is still very definitely anyone's game. Bring on the pain...WOW!!!!
