Our 4.40 Challenge this month has 47 individual people entered into it, the largest prize pool ever in two plus years of the challenge. I think that's an indicator that there is still a community here.

It may not be exactly the same as before but FCP still feels like a community to me. I really enjoyed vb's HU challenge in May as well as the FCP WSOP satellites organized by DNA. I would have liked to join the 4.40 Challenge and the weekly Negreanu Open, which remains one of my favorite tourneys given all the regulars/old timers in that tourney and the fact that that was where I first started to learn all about MTTs. Unfortunately, with a full-time job and a toddler who's now roaming the house daily and wrecking havoc, I haven't had much time to participate in as many of these events as I would like to. It may not be at its peak anymore as when FCP had a poker site at Ongame with an awesome lobby chat room, but to me it still feels like home. It may sound corny but it's just my 2 cents.

I've been a member of this forum since early 2005. I lurked for several months before actually joining.I was very leery about joining any forum let alone this one. But I really enjoyed reading Daniel's blog so I thought what the hell, I'll join.I'll post on occasion when I see something, interesting, funny, or stupid. I try to add value when I can but for the most part I just like reading what people have to say. There's such a diverse group of people here that it's always interesting to get their take on things.Has it changed? Absolutely. It's always changing.But if we hop on the way back machine there were times when this place really, really sucked. There was a time when a bunch of idiots derailed every thread with what they were having for lunch or dinner. It got so bad I stopped coming here. But like a meatball sub in your small intestine that too passed. Also early on the flaming wars that went on here was absolutely brutal. People got cooked. Mean, spiteful members were complete assholes to new members who didn't know the 'rules.' Yes, they may have asked 'uninformed' questions but they did not deserve the heat they were receiving. (well, most of them at least) Good posters come and go but so do the bad ones. If I could change some things on FCP, I would. For one thing I absolutely detest the fact that Daniel's 'blog' section has been overrun with political nonsense. I am all for talking politics (it was my major in college) but I wish a special political section would have been created. Also a few months back TJ (I think that's his name) posted a random thread in general pop about AK and why he did what he did on a particular hand. It had the potential to be something cool. But instead it became a bucket fecal matter. If a topic gets out of hand we are the only ones to blame. If someone wants to hijack the thread, people need to steer it back on course and ignore the white noise. Also, it seems as though people can't ask any questions any more without getting a cyber beatdown. A couple months ago I made a topic about a twitter post Daniel made. I didn't understand what he meant so I naturally posted my question on 'Daniel's' web site. Vtlax09 said 'Oh this is threadworthy' I found that quite disappointing. From what I understand he's an excellent player and could have perhaps offered a bit of insight but instead it became a huge circle jerk with everyone one piling on saying that it was a stupid thread. It may have been but then something strange happened, Daniel actually answered my question. I wasn't looking for some great poker insight, I just had a question and was looking for answer. Shocking I know. However, one thing I would not change is FCP Bob. That guy is a rock star. He brings a calmness to the sea of horseshit that swirls around here sometime. That's all I got. Not to start any drama, as I think most of us who left did so quietly with no ill will whatsoever towards FCP - it brought us together, after all - but for what it's worth, I think FCP would do itself a lot of good by pruning a select few posters from its roster.
