**official** Environmentalists Do The Dumbest Things Thread

Recommended Posts

I hope you're just trolling and aren't this dumb. Even though I shouldn't bother I guess I'll explain the obvious once again. Coal burning was insignificant until the industrial revolution. At that point pollution started a steady increase, and the warming trend started as well. Pollution peaked in the mid 20th century. Once some of the pollution was reduced then global warming sharply accelerated. What I've said about pollution and global warming fits exactly with the facts. Burning more coal will increase global warming because the long term CO2 effects hugely outweigh the short term pollution effect. You'll also have the short term cost of killing countless thousands of people due to pollution and making life worse for everyone else.
So reducing pollution has begun killing the planet?

Reducing pollution is saving the planet in the long run. Here's a website that should be required reading for all of the climate change "skeptics". www.skepticalscience.com

Reducing pollution is saving the planet in the long run.
But in the short term, it is increasing global warming. What good is having a planet tomorrow if no one is around to enjoy it?Looks like we have no choice but to continue higher and higher levels of pollution until we find a better way to combat global warming. If nothing else it delays the inevitable rise of the earth's temperature by <4 degree in the next 100 years. That's something worth fighting for, even if it means our air is a little dirtier.Plus the added benefit of people dying slows population growth, it's cruel but more people is the last thing we need right now.

... and people who are right.
...who then hide behind the "We are open to change if information warrants it" Never noticing how those two statements don't jibe.

Because....you aren't looking for any more facts that challenge your beliefs?I'm glad we were able to admit that in public Jonas.Step 1 [x]Next we will need to work on your choice in head wear. This could take a long time

you're an idiot. u really have zero clue regarding the factors in play. why don't u critique a scientific paper on climate change? u wouldn't get past the first sentence, if that.u morons make educated people laugh...u know so little it's hilarious...what are your credentials to give u the right to critique climate change? that's really what u r doing, so back it up loser.==================="I think we have a better educated public in Europe than in the U.S., where fake arguments are still on the table, because of that kind of journalism...."""When people say they are disbelievers of climate change, you have to point out that most of this has been debunked. I would say most of our stories — 75 percent — are overwhelmingly showing that climate change exists. Ice is melting, animals are dying — that kind of thing. I think the only thing I want in life is to find out that All_In writes for Hallmark.
He could make a killing (no pun intended: women who are caught driving!) writing for Hallmark in Iran.

I would settle for him to just move to Iran.I feel that as long as we use full sentences and spell everything out he will never know we are talking about him.

I've never really understood using "u" and "r" in place of "you" and "are" when typing. I can see it when you're on your phone or something (but still don't care for it), but if you're actually typing on a keyboard, it just can't be measurably more efficient.Time test: You are an idiot.Time test: u r an idiot.I suppose the shortened way might shave off a few hundredths of seconds if you used it enough where it's just habit, but I lose time because it totally throws off my rhythm. (Other things that throw off my rhythm: having to think about how to spell rhythm.)Regardless of efficiencies, when I read someone who types that way, it definitely lowers my perception of their intelligence. But that's almost certainly a generational thing, right? I doubt today's teenagers have the same biases when it comes to text-speak or whatever it's called. In summation, get off my lawn.

I also doubt they have the same level of verbal intelligence people used to have.

Interesting (ok maybe not) side note. Before Wang went to jail, I used to chat with him on AIM from time to time. Sometimes it took him 5 minutes to respond to a very simple message. Every single one of this IM's had perfect grammar. When I would respond and sometime shorten a word, or omit an apostrophe I could feel him cringe 2500 miles away. In summary, black is to white as All_In is to Wang(grammatically speaking of course, although it would not surprise me if All_In is significantly darker in complexion to Wang. Right Amscray!).

You can only not pay child support for so long.
Real or running joke that I'm too lazy to follow?
