Hector Cerif 0 Posted June 30, 2009 Share Posted June 30, 2009 ok so i was playing in a 20$ tournament recently and was doing fairly well at a break an "add-on" period started and you could buy 2000 chips for 20$ i had 4500 chips at the time the starting stack size was 1500 the average stack size at the break was 6500should i have bought the extra chips? If the add-on gives you 20% or less of your stack, I usually don't take it. In your situation, it's a very clear case for taking the add-on. Link to post Share on other sites

Is it taken for granted that it's the same amount as the buy-in?I don't know, it sounds obvious to me that the buy-in vs add-on ratio is an important factor (no-brainer) yet nobody seems to give a damn. potatoman 0 Posted July 1, 2009 Share Posted July 1, 2009 I've seen a couple of turbo rebuys where the add-on bought you about 4 BB...Assuming I'm entering a rebuy tournament with a good structure, unless I'm on tilt and low or chip leader by a mile, I almost always addon. This is definitely one where you do need to take it... the only circumstances where I can see it not being profitable is if you have 20-30K in one of the ridiculous stars or FTP rebuy hours... even still, I'd probably take it.
