Rake Vs Comission From Net Winnings

Recommended Posts

I would say this would be a bad system for the good players and a great system for the breakeven/small losers.

Not terrible...if you have a bad month, you don't have to pay much rake. Would probably suck for the guy who scores big in a couple of major tournaments. I'll have to look into this before I really form an opinion. Do you pay your commission whenever you cash? At the end of the month?

what is meant by commission?
Pretty sure it means a % of your winnings are taken by the poker site.If you won 10,000, the site would take 1,000 of it with a 10% commission rate.Crappy system in my opinion.

When did sites, and casinos for that matter, figure out they could take a portion of the pot? This is why I like tournaments or home games. I do not approve of the rake or commission.
Because if sites and casinos didn't take rake and commission......Do I really need to explain this?

I'm sure they'll stop right away now that you've expressed your opinion

Definitely sounds like it would be better for cash players and far, far worse for tourney players. Say you play a $10 tourney and cash for $600. Instead of paying the $1 rake and profiting $599, you're stuck paying $60 in commission.antistuff, how do you track how much you have actually paid in rake?
