Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on buy-in guidelines for stud/razz cash games?Normally for Hold'em I buy-in @20xBB for limit games100xBB for NL (sometimes 50xBB)What should I be sitting down with for stud/razz?20-40x big bet?

No limit razz makes Oolong sad.
Then Oolong is very sad on the Prima skins. I've never played it, but NL Stud sounds like a horrible and boring game since there are so many betting rounds you'd almost never get past 4th or 5thZara

In Stud, I usually sit with at least 25 BB, depending on the stakes and ante structure. The simplest reason for sitting with at least 20xBB at all times is that if you get into a raising war with the best hand and cap every street, you're looking at 15+BB on one hand in stud. (2 BB on 3rd, 2-4 BB on 4th, 4 BB each 5th-7th). This is particularly the case in stud hi/lo, where raising wars are more common. You can lose a lot if you have the board lock on the lo but you run out of bullets.
