Poker Player Twitters Suck...

Recommended Posts

So I've subscribed to a couple poker player's twitter accounts and I've come to this conclusion. They suck balls. And here's why: It's a platform for players to give an endless stream of bad beat stories. They don't have to chase some one down and pull them aside, to tell them their A24 staring hand in razz got chased down by KK4. They can just tweet it out to a captive audience. They never have to see their twitter subscribers roll their eyes, or break eye contact with them to look for anyone else to talk to. They can just assume their fans give a shit. Oh, and if they aren't bitching about their bad beats, they are name dropping and brag posting (phil hellmuth). God damn, I am sticking with comedians and porn stars from now on and unsubscribing from all poker players accounts.

Have you not read his blog or listened to him in an interview or watched him play. Doyle's is really good, it is basically him just sending one liners all day.

Not just talking about Hellmuth, but it's just insufferable. Doyle's might actually be funny, I'm a sucker for old southern cracker one liners. Does Slim have a twitter?

I highly recommend Lacey Jones' twitter account...not for the poker insight, but for the pics she keeps posting. For example:http://twitpic.com/8bj6a
Um, yes, Lacy Jones - very nice. I follow Daniel, Doyle, Ivey and the Bear. Not bad. Also David Williams. I heard David's was so bad but it's been like all the others - mildly interesting. Ivey's is posted by someone else. But Doyle's is the best. For a man of 72, he actually gets new media.

I don't know what this means, exactly, but I don't have a tweat following, which I don't post to, and if I did, it certainly wouldn't be posts bout how my jacks got cracked by 105o

This right here is why I don't think I'd ever consider following a "famous" person in this manner. The banality of their daily or hourly musings would shatter the illusion of fabulosity. I don't wanna hear about Sasha having to go pickup toilet paper. I wanna hear about (or imagine) how she took the cashier into the stock room to blow him.I'm already neck deep in the mundane, I don't need a "celeb" piling theirs on as well.
