He's said in the video blog that there's way too much play in the early levels and most pros don't show up to the limit events until the 2nd level.

Fun Night, Daniel?Carrying a beer, Daniel Negreanu just came bounding into the Brasilia Room and finally took a seat behind his stack at Table 243, which had been blinded down to about 23,000. He proceeded to spill the beer all over himself, then bring in the action with the {2-Diamonds}."What are we playing, stud hi-lo? You go high and I go low?" laughed Negreanu."I am wasted. Hardcore," he continued, his eyes glassy and bloodshot.Negreanu spent the earlier part of the night over at the NHL Awards, followed by dinner with WSOP commissioner Jeffrey Pollack, Pollack's brother Gary Bettman, the commissioner of the NHL, and the lovely Lacey Jones. Apparently, a good time was had by all!

Why the different last name? Are they step-brothers?

lolWe're not reporting this to be mean-spirited, we're reporting it because it's one of the funniest damn things we've ever seen at a poker tournament... especially a Stud 8 tournament, which could always use a shot in the arm when it comes to the fun quotient. Daniel Negreanu, a fresh beer in hand, is now walking up to different people on the rail and playing with their hair. Seriously. He's fluffing it, inquiring about cuts and products, and pretty much has everyone in stitches. Mens' hair, womens' hair-- he's touching it. Caressing it. Loving it. "Hey Daniel, can I have your autograph?" inquired one female fan. "Sure! But can I play with your hair first?" replied Negreanu.

Okay after looking at his last post I think he's trying to say...26k honestly for being drunk, my play is perfect. But I may be off on my drunk translator.
