losing chat on pstars

i'm not proud to say this but i got my chat revoked today on pstars for a month. i was very upset about losing a 50 dollar sng when a guy made a very bad push on the turn when it was obvious he was beat and i was a 85-15 favorite, anyways i called and he sucked out on river. long story short i used a couple of profane words, not directed toward him, i said it was a fukin joke that he sucked out and a fukin joke that he made that push and won, i then said you would have to be fukin retarded to make that play. apparently he knew many of the people at the table and they reported me for this and i immediately lose my chat for a month. now obviously i know that my outburst wasn't called for and was unproper behavior but the punishment seems ridiculously harsh. all of my profanity was just directed toward the situation not the person himself, not trying to justify using the f bomb but i am actually called profane and vulgar things at the poker table almost everday. anyways, i don't see how the punishment fits the crime and i've tried emailing them to see if they can do something to fix it but so far no luck. anyways, i was just wondering if anyone here was lost their chat before on stars and if they were able to get it back. please don't flame for my outbust i already admit that i shouldn't have made it but the punishment here doesn't seem to fit the crime. thanks.

All I can say is, try to take something positive from it. I lost my chat on PStars for 6 months last year. I think it actually helped my came quite a bit.

Pokerstars is pretty harsh when it comes to chat bans. It isn't too hard to get a month-long ban. Just email them when the month is up and they will give it back.If you often feel the need to curse at opponents, try party poker. They are much more conservative with the bannings and they only last three days. Also, the penalty never seems to increase. I have had 5-6 bans on that site for excessive cursing, including racial slurs, and the penalty is always three days.Hope I could help,MC

A month seems more than reasonable for comments like this. Who wants to win a hand and then have to hear that it was a ****ing joke that he made the play and one and only a fuking retard would make that kind of play? I've actually completely turned my chat OFF b/c I can't take the comments anymore. You don't like the play I made? Tough! Maybe I had a read on you. Maybe I knew you were bluffing. Maybe I made a bad read and thought I was in a better position than I thought I was. Maybe I'm just bored and drunk and felt like gambling. For whatever reason I made my play, it's MY play and MY money and I don't need to have obscenities hurled at me because I won the hand when you were the favorite. It sucks to lose to a bad beat or a suck out. Yesterday I lost 2 tournaments to people check-calling large bets to nothing more than an inside straight draw. Of course I wanted to scream "do you realize that you risked your entire stack on basically 4 outs? Do you realize that if you didn't catch that one card you had no other way to win the hand and couldn't possibly be ahead?" Instead though I just pounded the table and moved on. What's the point? Cursing people out is immature and there's no need for it. I keep my chats off entirely just so I don't have to deal with it. This way I can just play my game without interruption or aggrevation.

Well said! Not that I'm complimenting your reply. I'm just talking in general and it just seems to be directed at you. :wink: It blows my mind when players are irritated by bad play. Am I the only one who WANTS someone to make a bad call? I don't like suck outs either, but they are part of the game. I actually get more irritated when I suck out on someone else. It means that I, and not the other guy, made a mistake. That's the hand that I can learn something from.

I was playing at a table with a guy who was the most vulgar immature whiner I have ever played with. I made a big call on the river with 2 pair when the board had both straight and flush possibilities, and he went nuts because I didn't believe what he was representing. So he calls me every name in the book and threatens me, my family, etc. I use a few choice words back at him, after keeping quiet for a while I couldn't take it anymore.The next day I get an email from Stars support. Apparently the guy who was yapping away reported me for chat abuse. Little did this bonehead realize, they can review the chat. So they reviewed the chat gave me a warning and banned him for a month. The person from support was funny, he said I am required to issue you a warning for using this language, and pasted in bits of our conversation that included the other guy's thoroughly disgusting language. He then wrote a p.s. and told me he banned the other guy.I loved it this douche clown reports me for chat abuse and gets banned...classic.
