sadida17 0
I am assuming that you are referring to NL Hold'em when you are talking about tournament vs. cash, but I guess this would hold true to all. I think that in a cash (ring) setting, people in general are a little more apt to call you down due to the reload factor. With that said, you should probably play a little more tighter and definitely aggressively when you do have it in a ring game and be a little less forceful on the bluffs/semi-bluffs. Read your table, figure out what you can get away with and exploit the weaknesses of your opponents. To answer your question, I believe that tournament players expect more folds in ring games and thus tend to force the issue a little too much. Unless you know your opponent really well, this is a mistake, especially in low limit games.
GeneralGeeWhiz 0
I might be wrong but wouldn't they undervalue suited connectors and low to mid PP's?
trystero 0
I might be wrong but wouldn't they undervalue suited connectors and low to mid PP's?I'd say that they overvalue them, calling OOP all of the time, not getting the proper odds to set mine, etcThey overplay top pair.this too, probably the biggest leak. Overall, tournament players do not adjust for the deeper effective stacks of cash games. 100 BBs is way deeper than anything they typically experience. Many of their leaks probably stem from this - overplaying TP, ignoring pot control, not being able to recognize WA/WB situations, not appreciating the supreme value of position... mike8732 0
also under valueing small suited connectors since the blinds do not change in cash games.

TheDonk1989 0
They might play too loose and over value top pair. In a cash game, players will play much tighter. So if you have top pair top kick, you might win a big pot in a tournament, but in a cash game your gonna lose that pot the majority of the time.
antistuff 0
i would guess a lot of it has to do with stack size. they just arent used to playing in a pot with somebody where they both have 100bbs or more. depends on the player, but i would expect either lots of bad call downs in huge pot (never folding an overpair or tptk) or lots of bad folds.
