DanielNegreanu 141
Phil Laak not being with a site is the most puzzling thing to me. He clearly likes attention, does a lot to promote himself, but never seems to look to profit from any of it.
gmanshade 0
on a recent episode of Poker After Dark (the "Hellmuth Bash") there is an off camera conversation between kenny tran and durrrr about phil laak's drug use, and tran says that if the question was how many days a year laak was high he would take the over on

I don't see this as being the issue, as there are many other players out there who have sketchy pasts but are still backed by a site. I'd think it's more his personal decision and the fact that he never plays online.

Balloon guy 158
I was actually on season two of that show with the wife.Search for the circus episode on you tube. They do a lemonade stand contest. That's me and the wife.So did Antonius give your wife any money from the $1,000 he won?

MaxStPolish 4
So did AntoniO give your wife any money from the $1,000 he won?$0No complaints of course as the trip to san fran was covered by the network. Woulda liked to have hung out afterwards a little bit, but didn't want to invite ourselves out being that this was work to all to them, plus we had tix for alcatraz later that day. pokerkid 0
Apparently, when Laak lived overseas, he rolled some guy for $30k or something. Who knows if it's true. Here's a link.http://beat.bodoglife.com/poker/poker-pro-...ling-78127.html If anyone wants to waste a ton of time at work tomorrow, read this, click on links, get to the thread on 2+2, and keep reading. CoolHandKai 0
My opinion of them both just went down.I don't know, if the money from the wager would have been split, wouldn't the losses have to be split as well, making it +/- 0$ anyway? The surplus from the lemonade stand should have been divided, though.
MaxStPolish 4
My opinion of them both just went down.I'd be lying if I didn't say that deeeeeeep down I was hoping for a little surprise $$. But like I say technically we weren't even supposed to be on the show, it was just to go down there and watch the taping, etc. Either way we got a free 2 grand easy in airfare for two from chicago to san fran and 3 nights at the W.They were both decent enough guys though, so personally I have nothing but okay to say about them.My favorite part of the trip was after taping when a passer-by recognizes antonio while I'm talking to him and asks to take a picture. I could read that the guy wasn't sure if i was someone famous or not myself. So i just totally act the part of another person he should be "wanting to taking a picture with". I guarantee this perplexed this guy for a while trying to figure out, "who the **** is this anthony guy that I met". Antonio got a larf out of it as well.
