Hard To Swallow This Beat

Recommended Posts

Yeye, so I play with like no money in the 0.01/0.02 no limit. But I'm only 16 years old, and learning every day.The person to my left on the table seemed to make an oversized bet everytime she was bluffing, and she bluffed alot!(What's called oversized on that table is like $0.20) Here is what happend: Me:Ah 9cSmall blindPreflop:Everyone calls until the big blindShamane bets 0.08 from the big blindOnly three callsFlop:2h 2d 7sPlayer 1 checks, Player 2 checks, I check.Shamane bets 0.08Player 1 and 2 foldsI raise to 0.16Shamane callsTurn:2h 2d 7s 2sShamane bets 0.36I use my time and desides to call, which I usually never do in these situations, as I only play for fun, and want to play as many hands as possible with my moneyRiver:2h 2d 7s 2s 4hI bet 0.12Shamane callsShe turns over A10 off suit.My first real moment of anger. If I played with more cash, I would have hit my laptop. She bet too much for anyone to call, whenever we tried to have fun.Even more frustrating:Only one minute later I mistapped and called an all in for all my 3 dollars. I was clicking the "check" for the game to go faster, and suddenly there are like three players with all their cash in, which everyone beat my pair of sevens. Guess who won the pot though...Just not my game. But I love watching poker, and playing micro risk. Well, I only watch Daniel, and it's sad to see his bad luck in HSP! Anyways.. back to topic. I'm putting my deck on the shelf.

Best hand won. FWIW, you played the hand horribly. Don't run bluffs in micros. People hate to fold. And if you do bluff, try to bet more than an amount that gives your opponent a brazillion-1 odds to call. Perhaps you may want to play that sort of villain with a good hand.Best of luck.

I don't know where you've been playing, but on 6 max tables about four people fold to any bet postflop. Even 0.02. Believe it or not, I wasn't bluffing, I simply thought I had the best hand. Bad played - I guess it was. But I'm sixteen and have been playing for two months.

Well played then!Really, you thought you had the best had, you bet the hand poorly, the best hand won, it was a bad beat. Got it.Don't mean to be hard on you because your just a kid. But read the forums a bit. If this is a bad beat to you, you may want to consider quitting poker now.

I think you need to look up the definition of bad beat.

I know what a bad beat is and that this (maybe) can't be named by it as I really had no hand, but had no where else to put it, and found this a way to make my first post :)As I might have mentioned earlier, I don't play poker for the money, but because it's a nice way to train my brain and I think it's very much fun.
