hank213 1,823
Did anyone see Southland this week? I don't know if I like them showing only half the cast. Does this mean the other characters are going to get time next week?I'm glad you brought this up. This week was the worst episode by far (out of 3 I admit but still). The most interesting story line is the rookie and new partner and to leave them out completely doesn't bode will for the life of the show. I don't think them showing half the cast one week and the other half the rest is the way to build loyal viewers, especially in the first season. They had better redeem themselves pretty seriously next week or it will drop from must see to ff through.
Cappy37 0
I watched Southland simply because it has one of the guys from Band of Brothers in it and I'm such a fan of that miniseries I will give pretty much anything the alumns do a look just so they can keep working. I'm glad I did. It wasn't necessarily "cutting edge" or anything but it had some intelligence and shows promise. I'll keep tuning in to see how they progress.Yes, one of the most amazing mini series in the history of television.TV is so bad these days... Shows like P&R, Southland, Unusuals, Castle, etc... is pretty much the only things i've added to my Tivo in forever.I love Tom on P&R, him and the bossman are great character foils. No idea where the show is going, but I'll follow allong for the time being.. It makes me laugh, so it gets a passing grade.Southland is a poor replacement for my need for a Shield-fix, but it's well done and looks to be solid viewing for some time to come.Unusuals is great, everything it was advertised to be. Slightly serious, slightly stupid, and a lovable-if-stereotypical cast of characters.

But as I continued to watch they've started to add some depth and humanity to each character and the show has really grown on me.
pokerinc 0
Parks & Recs is like when the 'Best In Show' guys kept making movies in the same style...It's kinda funny but nowhere near the original. I like Tom, but I wish he'd just stayed on Scrubs and helped that show develop a spin off featuring him and the other interns for next season. That would have been epic and much more entertaining.Jury still out on Southland.
Suited_Up 2
I think I'd rather watch Kath and Kim than P & R.I get a few chuckles, but I never feel any reason to come back and watch again. I do because I'm an idiot, but I think the show is pretty stupid.
king_tanner 84
The last 2 episodes of Southland have been good since the episode 3 stinker.Only the 6th episode is the season finale next week. I still think they can do without a lot of the characters though. It seems like from the previews that they are trying to resolve way too many things in the finale.Characters they can do without in my opinion: the guy from That Thing You do (Regina King's partner), the seargent with the DUI's and the crazy daughter. Also, it is weird how the last 4 episodes we haven't heard from the crazy officer with the blonde girl partner. It looks like he goes nuts in the finale, which is weird since they really haven't developed his story at all.

eYank 0
Somehow missed this thread, but Ive been watching Southland. It's been said, it's a typical cop show, but I like it. I was a big fan of NYPD Blue back in the day, and this is similar just taking place in LA. You get the guys out on the street and some detectives too.
