Except you should "je connais patrick Bruel", not "je sais Patrick". In french you can't say "i know ..." when you're talking about a person but "je connais".To know = savoir (when you talk about an object or something)orTo know someone = connaitre (when you talk about a person).It's complicated, because it's not like that all the time, but just know you should use the verb "connaitre" when you talk about a man or a girl.
