Bellagio Low Stakes Trip Report

Recommended Posts

Wife (Julie, go figure) and I decide to spend the weekend in Vegas and leave the baby with her folks. I get Bellagio for $139/night and use first class tickets I had bought in a charity auction and off we go. Get in late Thursday after half a dozen gin and tonics on the plane, play slots and blackjack a bit and I watch Doyle, Eli, Benyamine and 3 homeless-looking guys playing on the other side of the glass in Bobby's Room. Funny to see Doyle sitting under his own photo. Note that Eli sits looking at his own photo. LOL.Next morning after breakfast we walk like 8 miles up to the new Encore, which looks like a New Orleans Whorehouse, and back, and I have a terrible tequila at Margaritaville. At 11:30am I sit right down at a 1-2NL game. I get as low as $55 and buy back to the $200 cap, then win like $300 in 4 hours total. Lots of straddling and fun with many Vodkas pounded by me. Allen Cunningham was playing 2 tables over in what I think was 100-200NL.Dinner on the veranda at Yellowtail overlooking the fountains was very good, and we got wasted on Martinis and Sake. Then even more wasted we both got killed at Blackjack. Thankfully with tough times in Vegas the tables were only $10 rather then the usual $25 min.Saturday AM up and walk south this time all the way to the Four Seasons. Luxor is cool inside but they hustle you for show tickets and such immediately upon walking in. THEHotel at Mandalay is very nice. More poker this afternoon and I hover up $50 for like 4 hours, then get bored and start pushing just to either win or lose, and of course lose. Awesome dinner as usual at The Golden Steer, in my opinion the last great old school place left in Vegas. If anyone knows other old stuff like it, please PM me. Martinis and bottles of Puligny-Montrachet and '98 Bordeaux and the piano player playing the great old tunes and I'm in hog heaven. A $500 tab for the two of us later, it's back to Bellagio to see "O" which was also very cool. Spent 3 minutes inside The Bank. Terrible. How do the people get a drink in there with such a crowd. Maybe they're all on X or something and don't drink, I don't know.Bobby's Room had the same gang again Saturday night, joined by Minh Ly this time.Six more G and T's on the plane home last night. Good times...

Good trip report. Pics needed obv :)I dunno if they have a 100/200nl game running outside of Doyle's room, but if they did it would be in the little walled off high stakes area in the back of the room. Not sure what Cunningham was playing but it would surprise me if he was in this game. Maybe 100/200 limit.Mark

didn't you live in Chandler?Nice T. R. Bellagio 2-5 is the place to be for low stakes imo. I always run good there for some reason, even though I actually hate the lack of elbow room between the tables in there.

Yup. High limit room up in the back has this, mostly limit and mixed games, but I have on occasion seen 'them' play this high at a few tables just in front of the cashiers counter too.

It was in front of the cashiers. Again, it may well have been just 100-200 limit...

Nope, not from Chandler. La Jolla, Santa Barbara, Boston, then Atlanta...

Good report last 2 times I was there the room was closed all week. I hang out at the sportsbook at the Bellagio so I always check out the poker room. BJ is absolutely horrible I think they have come up with a fullproof way of winning they don't even let you last anymore you win one hand and lose 5. You should try out baccarrat if you want to kill time gambling and the odds of winning are much higher imo. Also this guy is old school for sure looks like he's got a Kansas City connection.Georges_Laforge_.jpg

I played a 100/200nl game in Dec. at the table right in front of the cashiers area so it could have been one.

[x] Gambling[x] Drinking[ ] SexI give it an incomplete until revised, but it has potential.
Just cuz you asked, we were too drunk each night, but I did give it to her in the shower one morning. Hey, I'm 46, I'm good with twice a week these days.

I play 100/200 NL all the time. I play with pennies. I don't feel the need to type in bold all the time.

Too drunk to have night sex but not too hungover to have morning sex?

Haven't you heard? It's a good hangover cure. And for the other question, I really liked the Bellagio as a Hotel.

I was in town from Sunday through Thursday and there was action in Bobby's room every night. It might have something to do with guys being in town for the NBC Headsup Championship that ended that Sunday.
