A Follow Up To The Complete Disaster Thread..

Recommended Posts

Seriously, there are those of us here that have been saying for months, "He's to extreme, look at his associations, he's a socialist, he's looking to expand government to unprecedented levels, he's not being honest about this",etc.,etc. As Denny Green would say "He is who we thought he was!!" He really, really is. George Bush was arrogant- this one takes it to a new level. He's just arrogant to your face, with remarks akin to "I won, shut up" while claiming to be reaching for Bi-Partisanship. Bush was a puppet many times in my view, this one is much worse, I believe he is the puppeteer and all this bad shit is exactly what he wants. Bush wanted you to be afraid of terrorist atttacks, Obama wants you to be afraid you can't feed your kids. Look at the balls of this administration- "I will go through every bill, line by line, and cut out the pork." What this actually meant was "I will demand a bill on my desk, take a weekend off and then sign it without reading it." But, this is what you wanted, undefined hope and change. Well, hope is out the ****ing window. Change, however, oh, that's here, but it's not quite what you thought it would be, is it? You got a president who in a week managed to disrespect our best ally, make the Russians laugh at him, give support to Hamas, etc. Oh, but you can get Michelles toned arms if you try and the kids got a new swing set and he has a few grey hairs- leading stories or magazine covers this week. Hope and change all right- you just didn't realize you would be hoping for your survival and change would be what was left in your pocket. Good call, guys. Way to make me look like a genius.

I agree. Clearly he's been in office long enough for us to make a declaration regarding his entire presidentcy.
In fairness, you can't honestly say he hasn't gone back on several of his campaign promises already. You are right however...you can't judge his policies until given a chance to play out. Personally, I am extremely, extremely disappointed in what I have seen so far both from him and from the monkeys in congress and senate. I didn't vote for him, but really didn't say one bad thing about him leading up to the election and even went so far as to defend him several times. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt in everything, but my confidence seems to erode a bit each day. Not like ice shelf calving...more like Utah desert erosion at this point.

I don't agree with everything he's done but I find it funny that the people most up in arms about him are the ones who never wanted him to win in the first place. The elections concluded and many were saying "hey we'll give him a chance" and now here we are slightly over a month after he took office and we are bombarded with all this.

What I really find funny is on the one hand they're complaining about campaign promises he hasn't kept but then on the other hand they're complaining about campaign promises he's kept. Kind of he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. But I never expected anything less from the Republican contingent on this forum. As I said in the other thread, the problems on Wall Street are more of a trust issue than an Obama issue.

Well as someone who voted for him, I think I can be a little harsher with my judgements.but there is also the reality that there was an $850 billion plan to save the economy when he took office that he supported, then he took office and spent anoother $950 billion, then a week later we have a brand new $450 billion spending bill. It's not like we are requried to let him spend money non-stop for 6 months before we start to question the effects of his spending. And I don't care who was elected, this mess is a mess. And 'the buck stops there' so to speak. When the economy turns around because of normal cyclical results, he is going to get the credit, why shouldn't he get the blame if he is taking drastic actions?I would agree with you 100% if he didn't do much of anything and the stock market was dropping like a stone. But he's taken seriouos drastic actions, and the results are not positive. And I did give Obama credit for continuing with the policy of rendition and torture for extreme cases that Bush began. So I'm being fair with my praise as well as my critisms

"Read my lips..no new taxes.""I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinski"Lying directly to the people is different then being a regular old scummy politician.Saying I will not hire lobbyist, then hiring 4 of them for some of your highest positions, followed by saying I will not allow earmarks, then having 9,000 in your second peice of legislation to sign and not doing anything about it = liar.

Yes... because the ones he has not kept would have been good for the country and the ones he made and has kept we were against in the first place, and hoped to God he would not do. Seriously, when are you going to catch up as it were and stop dumbing down each thread?

To be fair, he's also facing an economy-crushing banking crisis, which calls for some more drastic measures. Dubya didn't really have to deal with such a crisis.

Unfortunately, his "solution" so far to a problem caused by too much debt is to create more debt and use the money to pay off the long-time Democrat contributors. Call me crazy, but I don't exactly see the connection.

Only problem is, with this sort of interference, normal cyclical turn arounds may not happen as usual.

Lol why do you think that matters BG? If it's all shared equally out then I'd want to live in the country with the higher per capita GDP since that means I'd have more money. But you take whichever you want. :club:. (And don't tell me to go there, lol. Getting rich isn't a big goal of mine as you can tell from where I chose to live)
